I use an IPTV provider that uses a M3u playlist. I've tried a variety of PC/Server solutions for recording IPTV but never found anything reliable.

I'm wondering if anyone has managed to use the MiBox as a PVR? Ideally to drop recordings on a network share (for Plex playback) and ideally the ability to schedule recordings remotely (unlikely I expect)

I am hoping someone can help me here.

I have installed the Mi Remote Controller app on my Huawei P20 Lite. The phone is connected to the same wi-fi as the Mi Box, however no devices are showing up.

Has anyone experienced this, and found a solution?

As of late I have been having issues with my Sony Smart TV. Every time I turn the TV on the TV has lost WiFi capabilities and I have to hold down the power button for 10 seconds until the TV resets. I figured I should just factory reset it in order to avoid having to do this every time. When I go to the settings to hit Factory Reset, it just goes to the home screen, prompting and doing nothing. I’ve tried to physically manually reset it by unplugging and holding down the volume down and power button for 10-30 seconds until a green light appears on the LED below the logo. But that yields no results either.

I’m really unsure where to go from here and would appreciate any help.

Is there a recording app for usb webcam on androidtv? I have a mibox. I tried Trueconf, it works with the camera. But it's not a video recording app.

Before the update there were options to reboot and to power off your shield. They seem to have disappeared? Have they been relocated? Is this option no longer available? Can it only be put to sleep?

All other video app seem to function that if you hit ok/A on the remote it pauses what playing, but for some reason Twitch thinks you wouldnt want to use the player controls and instead has focus on the suggested videos.

This means if you hit ok/A on the remote it jumps to another video.

Can they please set focus to the video player controls and have suggested videos under that like every other video player!

After the latest update, is anyone having this issue? When I start up Live Channels, it'll take forever to tune to the channel. Once it does tune to the channel, the description bar at the top stays there forever until I hit back.

Now these two things are just slight annoyances. My biggest gripe is how they changed the program guide. Now, when I hit okay, it brings up the "program guide, channel up, channel down, recordings, etc..), I select "program guide" and it opens up the program guide, but it also opens up the stupid list on the left hand side that says "all channels, family/kids, sports, shopping, movies, etc...". Is there any way to get rid of that sidebar? It's incredibly annoying and won't go away now. So now, my guide is cut down by 1/3 of it's regular size and I'm able to only see like an hour and a half of future shows on the screen at one time. Am I just stupid and theres an option to turn this off somewhere? Please tell me yes.

Hi After the update my MiBox won't load and just shows a white light on the front. I can get to the boot screen but it won't even let me factory reset it. Is there any way to save it or did the update break it some how? Thanks!

Does anyone found an workaround for mibox problem with wifi connection? It was after I update the firewall of my router (850L from dlink).

I tried almost everything except for using an update someone posted in reddit. I'll try this as soon as I get home but I'm pretty lost without anything to make it work.

Remote's Microphone doesn't listen anything and if it listens it's something else. I tried using the Android TV app it works super fine. Is there a problem with my remote or just an Oreo issue? Anyone experiencing the same?

I have an XBR55X700D running Android TV and i'm having a hard time streaming 4k content to it over my network. The built in ethernet is 10/100, and I can get 20-25 Mbit/s from a local server when running speed tests. The Wifi is better, getting me around 70-80 Mbit/s, but I still have trouble with some media. The media server has a gig nic, and I can stream files just fine to my laptop. Since the TV has a USB 3 port, I was wondering if there's any known working gig ethernet adapters that would work with this thing. The one I have has a realtek chipset and doesn't seem to work.

Any other thoughts/suggestions are welcome.

Hi, I recently bought a cheap TCL TV that uses Android 7, after doing some digging I read that leanbackcustomizer app can cause significant frame drops while navigating any menus. To my surprise that 400kb app was completely killing my TV's performance. You can disable it though android apps, it will stay off until next restart. Is there any way to delete it forever without rooting the TV?

I often watch Acestream links and always get issues with the Acestream official app.

Firstly I cannot change the player from MX player, I have chosen all different players in the settings and looked at the default selection settings and no matter what the video opens in MX.

Secondly, after about 20 mins I get a message pop up that basically says, Error cannot play this link and I have to open it again.

Is there another app that would be better? Something like soda player but for Android?

Update: I installed version 2.03.04 and now I'm in some kind of test group with new features in app, there is also sort of picture in picture when you are browsing while watching a video.

I subscribe to Pandora Premium and it seems like features are available, but not sure of the bit rate, it does not show in settings.

Any way to check it?

I'm sure a lot of you have this problem, after leaving the Mixbox on for hours the device doesn't respond at all. My only solution is to unplug the power and plug it again. Super annoying. The device never ever did this before the update.

Is there a fix for this? Can I downgrade?

Hi, sorry to write another post about MiBox bugs, but until now I haven't read about the same problems I have after Oreo updates. After having updated the firmware via USB and applied the secondo Oreo update:

1. Mibox occasionally turn on, even in the middle of the night, without any reason.
2. The Home Button doesn't work anymore both in the remote and in the Mi Remote App from another Android device, restarting doesn't make any difference, resetting makes it work again for a while. Have someone noticed the same bugs?

Where is the best place to sell my Mi Box? Went with a roku ultra and fire pendant instead, so now have an extra barely used mi Box that I need to get rid of. Is there a site for that?
