Suggest a USB3 Gigabit Ethernet dongle for Bravia-x900e AndroidTV?

Hi all, I'm hoping someone can suggest a working ethernet (gigabit) usb dongle that works on androidtv, in particular a sony bravia x900e running latest androidtv (7?).

Main reason is for good streaming for SteamLink app and 4k (bravia x900e has a pitiful 100mb port on it ;_; ).

Number version of YouTube on Shield TV Oreo

I remember that the lastest native version of YouTube for Nougat on the Shield was 1.3.11.

For those who already updated, what is the number version? Is it still the native app or have they forced the update to the web wrapper?

Thanks guys.

SY-FY Network ?

( MOD please Add a Flair for APP's )

Anyways Does anyone know the Reason or why SY-FY network isn't available on Android TV as a standalone app ..?

I am trying to catch up on Krypton and I really would like to be able to watch it with private listen mode threw my Nvidia shield Tv because the Dialogue on their show is set at a really low decibel that I have to turn the TV up all the way loud an order here but I don't want to wake up the whole family really disappointing that these people do this when they upload the shows .

It would be nice if there was an app that I could login to I already have Comcast cable so it's not like I couldn't just log in but there is t an app ..

Streaming live tv

Hey guys,

I live abroad and cable tv here is véry limited. I'm thinking of getting either an MI/Shield box, but I'm wondering how hard it is to stream US/EU tv-channels on there for someone with limited knowledge of streaming. From what I understand I have to download kodi and do it through there, but when looking through information about Kodi online this seems quite complicated. So basically, is it hard easy to do in practice or is an IPTV subscription the way to go for me?

Warning: Android TV Oreo updates the Live Channels app which STILL has issues releasing channels for HDHR tuners.

Additionally, you can no longer uninstall the app to reinstall the old version that works anymore since its a system app now.

It blows my mind how Google still hasn't fixed this issue as HDHR TV tuners are one of the most popular TV tuners out there. Before, I would just load the August 2017 version and it would work again.

Batteries drain too quickly on my bluetooth remote

I have a Mi box and the batteries on my remote drain out in about 3 days. I'm not sure if it's a hardware problem on the remote or some sort of software/setting on the box that constantly keeps the bluetooth connection on. Did someone have a similar problem on this or any other box ?

Recommendation for two party Video Chat?

I’m a new grandfather (twins!) and can’t handle AirPlay of FaceTime to my Android TV. Perhaps in part because it’s big (Sharp LC-80UH30U), but also because I’m a pussy and get motion sick at the drop of a hat. Any recommendation out there for a fixed USB camera on each end? I don’t mind spending to get there - I can set up identical environments on each end (android TVs). Shield? Trueconf? Tellybean? Hangouts?

Does anyone have a point to point solution working?

Is MX10 better than Nvidia Shield in terms of gaming?

I want to buy an android box for hardcore gaming meaning I will be playing games 24/7 cause some games have inbuilt bot features so I leave it on all day. It must have a good fan and play games smooth.

Now I heard Nvidia Shield is the best when it comes to gaming but it's a bit pricey but I discovered another box called MX10 and it has 4GB RAM but I'm not sure if the GPU is better than Nvidia Shield. Could anyone tell me is MX10 faster than Nvidia Shield in terms of gaming? also please recommend any other android box for gaming 24/7

Android TV box that supports updates

Hi,

I am quite new to this Android TV boxes world. During my research, I have read good things about:

- Nvidia Shield (too expensive for me)

- Amazon Fire (I am not a prime customer, so it doesn't seems logic to get one)

- Xiaomi Mi TV 3 (My current favorite so far)

However my concern is regarding updates. I would like to get a device that has support for updates in the future. The Xiaomi Mi TV seems to be on Android TV 6.0, there are some users that could update to Android TV 8.0 apparently with some issues. The newest model of the Xiaomi Mi TV (version 4) seems to ship with Android instead of Android TV, which seems a bit weird to me.

If you would buy a device up to ~$100 what would you pick? Is it worth it to have a generic brand Chinese box on aliexpress?

My main usage would be:

- Youtube

- IPTV (Kodi)

- Eventually Netflix

- DLNA over local network (wifi/lan)

- USB movies

- Able to send from my mobile phone with the cast button as modern TVs

- (desirable) Possible to upgrade the software as much as possible to keep it usable for a long time

- (optional but desirable) I would like to be able to both search over voice

- (optional but desirable) Nice and usable remote with mic

Thank you very much.

Hello, I sideloaded Nougat beta on to my US MiBox (to fix stuttering on Netflix) and now I can't upgrade to Oreo. Tried factory restarting but it kept me on 7.0. I found a downgrade but it seems like it only works on the international version :(
