Is this possible? It would be awesome if it actually worked for all features.

Since the last software update I can't sideload apps anymore, I'm trying to install droidadmin but the normal do you want to install screen comes up but the install button is greyed out, I can only press cancel. Is there a setting I'm missing? Cheers.

I've transitioned from Fire TV to an Nvidia Shield, and still need some of the fire stick apps. To make this possible, I'm keeping a fire stick plugged in, and will be setting up a combination of an automatic APK extractor, and automatic Google drive folder sync to mean I can always access the updated APK's on my shield, and continue to use the apps.

I will be doing this for:

ALL4 NBC SPORTS NBC SPORTS GOLD

I plan on making the gdrive folder publicly accessible.

I'm happy to add some apps that you guys need also - can be UK or US.

Just comment them below and I'll add them in when I get this set up going.

Edit: just so you guys know it will be about 3 weeks before I get this going due to work, but I'm just a planner...

This doesn't happen every time I try to watch a video but does happen enough to be super annoying. When I open a video the ads play as normal but when the actual content loads the whole app closes and I'm back on the main Android TV screen.

Any ideas how to stop this happening? I've uninstalled updates, factory reset and so on.

I just bought it and saw there's a chromecast built in. Is it worth it to buy the chromecast ultra for better video quality or is the chromecast ultra already built in?

Not sure this is the right subreddit, but here goes.

When I'm watching a YouTube video that's 4k and HDR with the built-in chromecast, my TV lags slightly. And by this I don't mean buffering, it is simply stuttering and not smooth. 1080p and HDR works smoothly. Any idea of how to fix it, or is the built-in chromecast simply incapable of being stutter-free?

The YouTube app does not stutter with 4k, however the app doesn't work with HDR as far as I know.

Guys when i watch netflix with hdr it has white fog on picture, so how do i disable hdr in netflix app. Please guys help!!!

I am now seeing videos for relevant to my Youtube history being recommended on my Shield homescreen, instead of the usual makeup videos and Jimmy Fallon clips. This seems to be real recent, as it was recommending Yanny vs Laurel just two days ago. The Youtube app hasn't updated, must be a server side switch.

Is anyone else seeing this?

When I put my PS4 controller (CUH-ZCT1E) in pairing mode, it's able to see the controller, it tries to pair/connect but at the end I receive the message that it is unable to connect. I've disconnected the power from the mi box, tried with USB cable but without any results. Also tried the sixaxis app, but apparently I need to root my box.

My phone is able to connect to my controller.

Anyone knows how to fix this?

Tons of posts on this, but none I could find with a solution. Some apps appear to have fixed this, but not all of them -- especially not Netflix. I'm wondering if anyone has found a decent workaround so that I can easily watch content on almost any app and not have it suffer from horrid judder. I'd love to have it just switch automatically like I have on other devices (TiVo, Roku) as everything else about the Shield is superior.

Is it possible to get vibration / haptic feedback with any controller when used with Mibox.. I have been told that even the controllers which has this feature won't work when played on Mibox.

I have tried 2 phones and same results. The app shows the MIBOX3 on the list. once i click connect it will try to connect and then just stop and back to the main list with MIBOX3 in to. will not connect.
