Not sure if anyone else has this problem, but on Sling TV, you are given the option to stretch the image for channels that are in SD/4:3. I set this. However, the image stretches out of the tv (the outer parts of the picture go "out of the tv" and are cut off). I have tried changing the overscan settings (which fixes the sling ui, but not the actual channels)... is anyone else experiencing this? Any solutions? I contacted Sling TV chat, but they were not much help :(

I am running it on a Panason HD Ready (720p/1080i) TV.

Hi there, when I open Google Play or Youtube the voice search is the standard input method and I have to click to keyboard input every time. Is there a way to remove or deactivate this on a Wetek Play 2 Android TV box so I only have keyboard input?

6 year old son knows how to voice search to look up videos about megladons and other sharks. he has stumbled into some other channels that aren't kid appropriate. Is there a way to block any channels from within the app?

Is there anywhere on the Google Play Movies app on Android TV that tells you what the resolution it plays is? I purchased a 4K HDR movie through Vudu and can't tell if GPM is playing it in that or not (via Movies Anywhere).

Hi, I like many MiBox 3 owners are experiencing Netflix refusing to work resulting in a code 802. I've read that this is because of HDCP 2.2 and was wondering if I buy an HDMI splitter that supports HDCP 2.2 if that will solve the issue. Thanks!

WTF? Voice search has an annoying bias for YouTube instead of Play Music. Examples:

• "Play music Michael Buble" -> YouTube
• "Google Play Music Michael Buble" -> YouTube
• "Play Michael Buble music" -> YouTube
• "Play Michael Buble on Google Play Music" -> Music (FINALLY!)

It should NOT be this hard. (ShieldTV, 7.0)

I want to play films with DTS and 5.1 Dolby through my receiver/TV. Will the $70 Mi Box work to play (sometimes 20GB) movie files? Or should I get the Shield?

I won't be doing any gaming -- ever. Just music and movies.

A total newbie question, I know. I used to have an Asus O!Play, that got really long in the tooth and didn't handle H.265.

While streaming internet content (netflix, etc) would be cool, I'm primarily concerned with streaming local files. Which means whatever device I get needs to have an HDMI or USB port to attach an external drive.

I have an external drive with movies, and want a way to feed them via HDMI through my receiver to handle 5.1 DD/ DTS sound, then onward to my TV.

Is the best/easiest option to get an Android box and run plex on it?

I'm considering the Xiaomi Mi, a Roku (not sure which model, there seem like a million of them), or Nvidia Shield. I'm totally open to a cheaper, Chinese knockoff, if that's recommended.

On Android TV with assistant you can play any song, there is no youtube limitation like there is on google home, although you do have to contend with advertisements.

Does anyone know if the Amazon Prime Video app works on the Mi Box?

I'm eyeing it as an affordable Android TV option but I need that app.

Amazon Prime Video was released for Android TV after Google pulled out the big guns in their battle with Amazon (removing YouTube from their new Echo Show)

Has anyone tracked down the APK? It was available before the official release on XDA, but before these latest developments Amazon had taken down the XDA thread. (upset they capitulated to that)

Just got a shield TV for Christmas, and when opening the box I noticed the controller was very sticky feeling. I can see some sort of residue on the controller in places, anyone else have this/Is that normal?

My dad bought me an android box but it looks like it doesnt support Google Cast. Also, how do I know if its real androidTV or just android in a box. Because its on nougat and the settings interface looks legit.

My MiBox has been having this Sound issue since last weekend. everytime I watch video in youtube, Netflix, kodi, it will have this on and off sound. It's like when you're listening to Dolby message instead of 'All Around You..' you listen to 'All.......You' anybody has experience this problem? what is the solution? I tried restarting, unplugging hdmi cable and plugging it again, check for software update, resetting the electricity.

So I'm using my fully updated shield TV v1, and wanted to try and get live tv working.

I noticed I have the live channels app installed, but I'm not able to open it (not in homescreen).

I then tried to download Pluto TV and see if that works. Turns out it's not on my play store! Even though I know shield supports the app.

What could be the problwm? Btw I'm in canada
