Is there any Android TV box that supports this resolution without stretching? I got a projector recently, and I figured I may as well keep something connected to it, rather than having to connect my laptop. Anything will work.

I wonder if there will ever be an official EarthCam App for Android TV, there is one for the Android phones, but there's no version of that for Android TV, so the only way to get Earthcam on your Android TV box is using Kodi, and installling an Earthcam plugin in it.

Hi everyone, I just wanna know if there is a fix for the following:

I've a Nvidia Shield TV which is running as a Plex client and a server, it gets the files over my old PC (samba) everything is wired through ethernet cable but for some reason Plex lowers badly the quality of my HEVC files and I think is because it is transcoding them (regarding the now playing settings in the web) but AFAIK the Shield and the app can handle that codec.

Anyway, the video plays flawlessly without any quality loss from Kodi AND from the Plex add-on inside Kodi so what the heck is happening here? The app is dumb? why the add-on can direct play there and not in the official app? I've seen quality loss in my MacBook Pro through web as well but I rather fix the Shield TV first which is my main device.

I've set convert automatically off and always stream at maximum quality, but anyway any help is welcome cause it seems that some settings may differ from Windows/Linux servers to Shield servers.

Edit: Ok guys I think indeed is the Plex player itself as it says it is transcoding cause is not compatible with the ASS codec which I think is referring to the subtitles files inside the MKV, also it transcode when plays a AC3 codec.

I’ll stick with Kodi and PlexConnect for HD files or the ones that are not compatible in the official player.

My tv used to go to sleep mode when I hit shutdown button, now it completely closes tv and takes 2 mins to open when I hit power button again. This started to happen suddenly. How can I take it back to old setting?

Hey Guys. Wanted to know if I had a faulty unit or if this is a known problem. I finally bit the bullet and bought a new Mi Box 1 week ago and to be honest, it runs everything I need and I was very happy with it. I'm only 1 week in and had it set up perfect.

However, I have a USB 500gb harddrive (2.5 inch, powered by USB port on Mi Box). I started watching a movie from it via Kodi and an hour into it, the system turned itself off. On restart, if I tried doing anything intensive, it would turn off. On feeling the device, it was very warm so I feel this is a heat-switch as the device was overheating.

Is my unit faulty and would be fixed by a store exchange or is running a movie from a USB drive drawing power from the device always going to do this? I had previously used the chromecast and streaming functions for >2 hours without it turning off.

Today I bought a Xiaomi Mi Box and I'm still trying to connect it to my tv because the remote doesn't pair. I've tried everything, but still...

UPDATE: Thank you all for your replies. I didn't have the time to reply, I was away for Christmas. The remote works just fine, I just changed the batteries.

Are there any apps that can be sideloaded to sync Hue lights to music that is playing? I know there are phones that use the mic on a phone, will this work using the shield tv controller or is it a waste of time?

The Mi Box is constantly turning on and off by sending a signal for TV to switch to HDMI input. Like a quick wake-up/sleep action. It makes my TV to stop each time and showing no signal for HDMI. It also spins up the attached hard drive on/off.

Anyone noticed this annoying behaviour? The Mi Box is running on the latest production update.

Since having an Xbox one x I've noticed it randomly turns off the tv. I've tried factory resetting the TV, reconfiguring the Xbox and changing settings but nothing seems to help. Has anyone had the same experience?

I’m using the iPhone app ‘Android TV” for my Nvidia shield, I can’t figure out how to adjust the volume in the app. The Nvidia remote can control the volume coming out of the shield, but the iPhone app can’t?

I just picked up a Google Home and it can’t even cast Netflix to an Android TV or change channels or do anything on YouTube TV. Really disappointed.

It is easy to do to a normal tv that supports youtube like my Sony TV. The cast icon will automatically show on my phone's youtube app when the Sony TV is on.

But the youtube app on the android box is different.
