So I got a Mi Box and I wanted to plug it to an old 27" CRT TV, I have an HDMI to composite converter, and it lets you choose 480p as the resolution, but when viewing streams on twitch, its making the 16:9 stream all squishy on a 4:3 screen, is there a way to set the Mi Box to use the 4:3 aspect ratio? that way it makes all 16:9 videos in letterbox format, this is something that my Roku 1 does really well since it uses an RCA.

Is the best bet craigslist or ebay?

So I hear that the US Mi Box is the top performer aside from a Shield, but that the t950z might be just as solid.

So I'm looking on ebay and Amazon and it's tough figuring out which one is the right one to buy. So I figured I'd come to where all the gurus are.

OR - if you tell me that I'm wasting money going after the t950z and should just get a Mi Box, I'm cool with that also.

Hey guys, up until now I used a Windows based streamer, or even Android supported that. I want to switch between accounts on Youtube. My gf isn't subed to my channels and it seems totally moronic that this isn't an option by default. Did I miss something? Is it possible to do that?

Hi guys, I've read many post here in reddit that UGREEN usb 3 hub woks fine with Mi Box, so I purchased one a few days ago. When I first connected the hub with Mi Box I noticed that the blue LED indicators did not lit up and I supposed that the power supply form Mi Box was not enough, so I purchased an external power supply for the hub. Now LEDs are lit up and usb ports working as I test one of them with a USB stick. Unfortunately ethernet port doesn't seem to work. I can't see any changes in Mi Box network settings, and no other LED lit up on hub and on my router's ethernet port. Am I doing something wrong? Does this hub works only in Nougat beta firmware? I am on stable android 6 rom...

Posting this since I couldn't find any help when I needed and this can probably save time for people who have the same problem with their Android TV.

I recently got my Android TV, mostly because I wanted to stream from a specific website. However, that website didn't have an app for the TV. No problems I thought and went on the built in browser. Everything goes fine until I click play. That's when it tells me I need to install Adobe Flash, which obviously doesn't exist.

So after Googling for at least an hour I couldn't believe flash wasn't supported by the browser. Even trying to find a browser like Chrome or FireFox in the market was no success...

Finally, I found a solution though. By installing Puffin Browser I finally got the stream website to work fine.

Also, when it comes to updating apps, some apps don't even show up in the "my applications" section. For instance, YouTube live videos didn't work, I kept getting an error. After actually searching for YouTube on market it told me it had an update. Interesting.

I just got my first Android TV, a Philips 55" 55PUS6432. Is there a way to turn off the microphone thing that shows up every time you want to search for something? Doesn't matter if it's YouTube or some other app. It's really weird that this is what the TV does by default since my TV doesn't even have a microphone. If it isn't possible, what do you do when your TV doesn't have a microphone?

I went in on that Walmart/Home Mini deal so I essentially got the Mini for $5. I would have waited on the Spot but I figured for $5, why not? What can I do with it in conjunction with my Shield?

I also have a Harmony Hub, Smartthings dongle, a couple of wifi lightbulbs and a motion sensor.

I also submitted to r/ShieldAndroidTV. Shield boots to Nvidia logo and nothing else. Recovery partition was erased. I assume nothing really can be done but any chance there is a way to get into something to deploy a recovery image? Thank you!!

Does anyone have any experience pairing an AirTV remote with a 2017 Shield TV? The AirTV is an Android TV box and the remote is Bluetooth. Without getting my hands on one, if it pairs correctly it may be a decent alternative. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

So i have this problem with my current setup that my TV is 4k and it has two 2.0 hdmi connections, but my amp (onkyo tx-nr616 only has 1.4 and it caps at 1080p.

So I was just wondering if there was a way to connect my nvidia shield into both devices at the same time.

Keep my shield at 4k and still somehow send those hd audio signals to my onkyo.

Audio return channel (ARC) is not the solution because it would require hdmi 2.1 at the both ends, and new kind of high speed hdmi cord just to get both 4k hdr and HD audio formats going through arc.
