Hi, SPMC can't detect or find any upnp servers in my network. But I am able to see upnp on the KODI app.

Any specific settings i didn't turn on in SPMC? Using nvidia shield 1st gen btw.

So I saw a Xiaomi Mi Box 3C which is a Chinese version of the Mi Box 3 in Aliexpress for 1/2 the price of the US version,which is VERY interesting if it's a real Android TV OS and not another Chinese Android for tablet OS. From the tutorials I saw it's easily converted to English, and I live in Lebanon so I don't need or care for US TV services, I just need the OS to be 100% made for TV

Hi, im fairly new to this so bare with me here. I recently bought a Xiaomi MDZ-18-AA from china so my grandparents can watch chinese program when they are here visiting for couple months. when i bought the box, the clerk told me its an international version so it should work here in the states. However when i plugged in and connected to wifi here, most of the program/channels are blocked due to copyright issues? only maybe 5% of the contents are able to play.

From what i understand, i need to root/jailbreak the box so it can trick the IP as in china in order to play the content?

IS there somewhere with a guide to install someones pre setup KODI. like I seen someone have one called the royalist on youtube.. it looked crisp. IS there a guide to install KODI and all the stuff I need in kodi like Exodus etc... and maybe a theme?

I was planning to update my CC1 + plex combo to one of these android TV boxes because rewinding or fast forwarding/skipping with CC is slow when playing mkv files thru plex server.

I have CC connected to amp which plays sounds and forwards the image to video projector. CC is hooked in ethernet. And 2500k as a plex media server.

There is always a 5-10sec transcoding waiting period with plex and it makes it damn annoying to find a certain spot on a series/movie/whatnot. And especially annoying when watching sports events.

So how is the fast forwarding with e.g. Mi Box? And can one do it with the remote control? I suppose I would be using Kodi with the box but any other app would do it that will play files from LAN drive and can include subtitles.

If I hook up a usb hdd to my shield tv, and run plex on it, will I have access to my gdd from my pc as a network drive? I like to transfer files and run a different plex server on my pc

Ok this is driving me absolutely mental and i'm hoping someone can chime in.

Here's my issue. I had a channel that went down (channel 4.1 - CTV - A Canadian channel in Calgary) due to one of their transmitters being damaged. They finally had it fixed but now on Live Channels and the Hauppauge 955Q tuner, I cannot view the channel. It just stays black and "weak signal". A rescan will find the channel without any issues and PVR information shows up no problem. If I remove the antenna and have it directly to the TV, I receive the channel no problem.

I even did a signal strength test and it's the 2nd strongest channel at 75%.

Every other channel works no issues at all. I even tried a factory reset and a complete set up from scratch, to no avail.

Does anyone know why? Do the new transmitters on the towers have a different signal not supported?

Anyone remember Fusion Frenzy for the original Xbox? Man, that was a super fun multiplayer mini game time!

I turned on my Nvidia shield and noticed a new option..YouTube TV. I'm already a subscriber to the service but it still doesn't do anything for me yet. Did anyone else have this?

How is the mi box in handling Kodi? I want to use it as a media player and Google cast too. And other things. How does it handle HD content? Can the remote control Kodi? .... Can it be rooted?? ...I know it's mentioned a lot here and I wanted to know personal experience with it mainly with Kodi.

I formatted a usb stick to fat32, put a video file on it, and plugged it into the mi box, but it doesn't give me an option to browse it. If I format it with the Mi Box and then plug the usb into the computer to put something on it, the drive isn't recognised and I have to reformat.

Anyone successfully use a USB drive as external storage on the Mi Box, and if so how did you achieve this wizardry?
