I wanted to know if you can navigate the mi box with your TV's remote if you enable HDMI CEC for it? I know you can with the fire stick 2nd gen so I assume it would be the same but I read some stuff about Mi Box having limited cec compared to other devices.

Does anyone get that awful and loud buzz when u pause or back out of a show or movie? Mine does it almost every time and only way to stop it is to hit play again

Is there a way to force the shield to get on 5ghz, my shield is on 2.4 and I can't stream games because of it. Google wifi auto switches, and my router is 1 ft from my shield and its on 2.4

I have no place for my PC atm so i'm wondering if anyone know a site that's compatible with my TV. Or if it exist an app with some animes.

It appears as if an app, even though sideloaded, will update itself if it's already available for Android TV. I only want some apps to update, not all of them. I figure it could be an option to set all apps to auto-update and sideload every app you manually want to update, but unfortunately it isn't working.

I can't believe there's still no possiblity of setting auto-updates for each app individually. Surely it wouldn't be a hard thing to fix?

I have a Sony KD55X8500D Android TV running 5.1.1. Recently I've been having more and more issues with it. Tonnes of lag in the UI, random reboots, won't wake from sleep, issues with changing picture modes between inputs. You name it.

Is this normal? Is Android TV simply this buggy? Does it get better with Marshmallow (if that update ever comes)? Is there any way to remove all the Sony bloatware?

Anybody got the masters app working? Currently I'm just casting it from chrome browser to my Sony tv but wondering if there was a modified tablet app of some sort

This just started after an update. It was working fine before.

The model is the p2571. When I start it up with the new style controller (this is all I have) connected it says to unplug USB, I do this and nothing happens.

I tried it without it plugged in and when I turn controller to pairing mode it just sits there flashing.

When I boot the device with a USB keyboard plugged it goes into initial setup mode but it will freeze completely after a few seconds and need to be unplugged to restart.

I also cannot for the life of me get the thing to show up using adb or fastboot and I also cannot get it into recovery mode at all using the hardware button or by holding a+b on the controller.

Is this thing completely fucked or am I missing something?

I'm having issues streaming HD content on Netflix on the Shield 2017, via ethernet and WiFi.

If I play the same content on my PS4 Netflix (also ethernet) it's totally fine.

For the love of my I can't figure out what's going on. I've replacing the ethernet cable in case it was that some how, no dice.

Any ideas?

Is there somewhere I can view a list of legit android tv boxes. Not crappy rip off ones on Amazon and eBay.

When I google list of them I get half legit and half running apks and mobile platforms.

I just want to compare legit ones to see what's right for me.

My first foray into Android tv on this Sony Bravia. Out of the box, it's littered with featured apps which I cant seem to re-order or manipulate. I see a guide on disabling sony shelf and sony something else to get rid of the crap.

The only problem is under "apps" I only see Google branded stuff. I cant figure out how to add Netflix, Hulu, Vue, HBO, SHO, Starz, etc to this section. If I go to settings menu I can find them and launch them but not ideal obviously.

I'm assuming this is because I turned off the Sony services. Any tips/tricks to get a clean interface?

I'm looking for a good solution to not have to cast my shows (DroidTV) from my phone or tablet to my tv. Looking on the DroidTV website, I was able to access their forum where they sell their own droidtv box but for (in my opinion) a high amount. Just looking to see if there are alternatives that would also allow me to do a bit more than what I am assuming theirs does.

I've been thinking that how quickly we get a native Android TV app can serve as a good indicator of how committed Google really is to the platform.

Because if we don't see it for months or ever, that pretty much tells us what we all fear, that this isn't much of a priority.

Hell, there's still no Google photos app!

I was thinking about buying the Mi Box but would want to run a wired connection and hear with an adapter often the usb will stop working or disconnect? So now I don't know if I want to buy it.

So are there any Android TV boxes on the horizon?

Bit of a weird one, but i noticed that i can no longer cast to my Mi Box when it's out to sleep.

Shouldn't it work like for the Shield does it?
