did anybody try it on the nvidia shield tv?does it work if we sideload it?with the controller?

Sorry if everyone already knows this but one of my favorite games on Android "Zombie Gunship" works perfectly on Android TV.

I'm using the Nvidia Shield TV and it has full contoller support and shows up in the leanback launcher. The only thing is you have to install it from the web. It doesn't show up in Google Play on the Shield.

Killing zombies just got a lot easier and enjoyable on the big screen. I hope this helped.

So I left the box alone for a while but forgot to turn it off. When I returned, it was playing K-Pop. I've removed all the free TV apps and only use Showbox and a couple others are on it but nothing K-Pop related.

Anyways, my Dad sees the box is flashing, gets confused and hits a bunch of buttons which brings it onto a blue screen (a nice one; not the Death kind) and it had my Internet's name, tonnes of asian type that I have no idea what it meant, along with a column on the right side with USB 1, USB 2, USB 3, USB 4. I assume it's a settings feature but I have no idea how to get to it. The K-Pop continued playing in the top right.

It's since been switched off but is there any way I can check where the music was coming from and has anyone seen that blue screen before?

So I have Plex running on my Shield Pro but it doesn't pick up all my TV Shows. I have tried my USB plugged directly into the Shield, and into my PC as a share. It just doesn't pick them all up.

If I use kodi I have the same issue.

I just installed Archos Media Player and now it sees them all! I don't know what the issue might be but I have always been an avid plex user and would like to keep using it if I can.

Does anyone else have some insight on this?

Hello there. I like to listen to music using Google Play music while playing video games on the Shield TV. However, I don't know of a way to skip songs or change the radio station without exiting the game first and opening the music app. Is there a way to control Play music via phone or the controller to skip songs?

I'm stuck on doom 3, can't find my way past the level im on. Are there any cheats to skip levels?

I bought a Sony KD-49X8305C recently, notably 4K. Its an Android TV but litterally everything seems to run at 1080. When you view the home or any apps you can see from the text and icons that its not displaying at 4K.

Is it possible to change this? I was hoping at least Netflix, Prime or YouTube would display 4K...

Any help or tips much appreciated, thanks.

Select hardware reviewers from major publications have been notified, by retailers, to expect delivery of Xiaomi Mi Box devices on or about 9/15.
Already showing as 'presale' on various online sources with prices from $99 to $104 with free shipping. As per Xiaomi's habit, major product releases coincide with meaningful Chinese holidays. The Mid-Autumn Festival occurs on 9-15 this year, with China's National Day celebration 2 week later in October. Xiaomi officials remain noncommittal on the subject.

I am currently checking new TVs and considering buying a Sony Bravia Android TV or any other 4K TV brand and had the Nvidia Shield to it. My major concern is how complex the system would get, cost, and Kodi performance with HEVC files.

What is everyone's opinion?

I noticed this a few days ago, but wasn't sure if i was just tripping, but it keeps happening. Every time i reboot, it of course asks me if i want my External to be mounted as Internal. I say no, keep it as removable, and it exits to the storage settings screen where I used to enable the option to access shield folders on PC at that time, but lately, it's been surviving the reboot. Is this happening for anyone else?

Anyone have success in getting this to work?

This has been going on for a couple months now, but I've noticed quite a few of the newer, more high end games that I play often crash after about 10-15 minutes of gameplay. The games that I've noticed doing this are Resident Evil 5, Metal Gear Rising, Borderlands TPS, and Contrast. However, games like Doom 3, Half Life 2, and the Talos Principle don't seem to have this issue at all (these are also games that have been on the Shield TV the longest).

I can usually fix the issue by restarting I left a complaint on the Metal Gear Rising page and they responded that they're aware and that they're looking into the issue, though I don't know if that's just what the tell everyone with an issue. Has anyone with the Shield TV been experiencing this or is it just me?

Just purchased one of these boxes as they had a labor day weekend sale going with 25 dollars off. Anyone have any positive feedback? "Upgrading" from an amazon fire stick. Thanks in advance.

I bought Anomaly 2 a while back while it was on sale, recently it became available through the Shield TV Google Play Store. Naturally I downloaded it and it plays great with controller support. But for some reason it doesn't show up on the Leanback Launcher.

Google play is inconsistent, because I own Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and 2 and can install them remotely with a pc browser Play Store AND they show up on the Leanback Launcher but they are totally invisible on the Android TV Play app. Searches don't even turn anything up.

Why aren't these kinks ironed out at this point?

I grabbed the old package and sideloaded it and it was working fine last I checked a couple of months ago but when I finally reset the Nexus Player after getting the Nougat update it no longer seems to display video. The EPG still works in Live Channels and I get the name of the show in a bar of the bottom when I open the app but no video or audio.

Is this the same for everyone else? If not could you please make some suggestions or let me know where I can find an updated package to install? Thanks!

My Shield TV has Netflix and BBC iPlayer as system apps. I can't remove them, which usually isn't a problem but I've encountered two completely ludicrous issues with them.

1. Netflix won't let you cast to the Shield TV if your phone/tablet is logged in to a different Netflix account than the one logged in on the Shield TV. This restricts everybody else in my house from being able to cast from their devices, from their recommendations. It's preposterous that this problem even exists, as it doesn't exist for any other app.

2. BBC iPlayer casting won't work at all. You just can't do it. The great irony here is that the iPlayer app is a Shield TV exclusive; you can't get iPlayer off the Play Store, but the web and mobile apps fully support casting. Not in my living room, though. In my living room, you'll have to put your phone down, find a poorly-made Shield controller or remote, navigate the awful UI of the BBC iPlayer tv app, then you can watch iPlayer.

These two issues have left me dumbfounded. Given that they're system apps, I instinctively want to blame Nvidia; what the hell were they thinking when they allowed these apps to be restricted in this way? It has completely switched me off of Android TV, because it's missing features that my Chromecast has.

It was my understanding that Android TV would sit back and just behave like a Chromecast whenever you casted to it. These two issues suggest otherwise. I don't want an Android TV device and a Chromecast in the same living room, I just want one device that does everything.
