Plex released a new beta of the Plex Media Server for SHIELD Android TV. This beta update adds basic DVR functionality on SHIELD. SHIELD users will be able to setup recordings of over-the-air TV channels from any web browser and record them to SHIELD’s internal storage for play back from anywhere in the world via Plex Media Server. Earlier this summer, SHIELD became the only media streaming device to support PLEX Media Server. With this new beta, SHIELD also becomes the only media streaming device to add native DVR support. The PLEX DVR experience is still being developed, but with the beta today, you can get an early preview of what’s to come. For more information please visit the Plex DVR FAQs below:

Recently I acquire a sony 49x80c(4k) and now i want to maximize my experience with this Android TV.
I already went trough the other posts and the information is very vague and diffuse.
So I'm going to ask here what i want(need), hopping to help myself and other's that come here looking for a good setup/tuturial.
First thing I want to build the best and more confortable setup possible so I'm not looking for things like, this is more cheap but works a little bit flausly/buggy, I'm aiming for the best possible.
Second thing looking for no root at all.
Third thing (not a requirement, but an information) in the near future I'm thinking in buy the xbox one s so i can have a good 4k bluray reader.
So if this is possible i will ask now the questions.
1. Best wireless controllers to connect with sony Android TV?
1.1 - How to connect them?
1.2 - Extra setup needed?
1.3 - Possibility to have more than one connected?
2. Best Emulators for Android Tv? Retroarch system
2.1 - Gameboy?
- Android GB/GBC Emulator Accuracy Testing Results after reading this i will choose the Gambatte core in RetroArch.
2.1.3 - Best settings?
2.2 - Nes?
- Android SNES Emulator Accuracy Testing Results after reading this i will choose the Nestopia - RetroArch.
2.2.3 - Best settings?
2.3 - Sega Mega Drive?
2.3.3 - 2 Controllers supported?
2.3.4 - Best settings?
2.4 - PSX?
2.4.3 - 2 Controllers supported?
2.4.4 - Best settings?
2.5 - Others?
2.5.2 - 2 Controllers supported?
2.5.4 - Best settings?
2.X.1 - Wireless controller previously recommended work?
- Note 1
2.X.2 - How to setup?
- Note 2
Note 1
A lot of controllers that can be connected by bluetooth to the Android tv will work but, some of them may require that you set it up on the first run, so you will need a keyboard or someway to navigate on the retroarch menu Settings > Input > User 1 input.
Note 2
I have followed this guide I think is pretty basic but for the first time run i think is enough it is not for the retroarch on android but the options are pretty much the same.
Thanks all. I'm going to try to maintain this post with the best suggestions given by you guys.
Ps: If you want something more added to this tell me and if it something that i want to i will add them to this post. This is to my first post on reddit so suggestions will be more than welcome.
Update 1
After the help of @ParadoxicGer and @samwelnella I decided that I'm going to try first Retroarch and after (on the near future) check the frontend of Arch browser.
After some diging i found this from sony support Which gamepads are compatible with the Android TVs. With is strange that logitech gamepads are better supported than the sony dualshock 4, and even sony x80c has a dedicated setup to connect the ps4 controllers prof.
Today I will make a decision and buy the f70 gamepad or the PS4 controller, and test it later.
Yesterday i installed the Retroarch on my android tv but without controller i couldn't make any progress at all.
Update 2
Yesterday i didn't have time to buy any controller, so i decided to connect a wireless keyboard(k800) to Tv so i can start test the Retroarch.
The keyboard was pretty easy to connect since i have the Unifying Receiver usb pre paired with the keyboard.
After that i installed the Retroarch from the store, updated some cores, disabled the gamepad interface on screen, changed some video settings, download some rom's to a pen drive selected the directory from where to star the roms, and had some fun.
Since last update another 2 controllers have entered my personal race the wii u pro controller with the mayflash adapter, and the new xbox one s controller, any opinions about the second will be more than welcome.
For the Retroarch since it's in a 4k tv i'm looking to configure the settings in a way that I only don't see squares on the screen, any help will be welcome.
I have updated the post.
