don't know how to x-post. coming over from r/cordcutters.... Ridiculousness at its finest. Sony does not provide Vue on it's own damn product. Anyone able to sideload and get Vue working on a Sony 4K Google TV?

Just like the title says, how do I access an external USB or hard drive which is plugged into my shield from my PC?

I have an app or two that constantly freeze up. I end up having to go to Settings, Apps, Downloaded Apps, find the one I want and then Force Quit.

I'm going to give my parents a Shield TV and I think this process of force quitting apps will be way too complicated for them. They likely won't be able to remember it and in the best case scenario will simply turn the Shield TV on and off.

Is there a simpler way of force quitting unresponsive apps that even a non-techie grandma/ grandpa could intuitively do it?

So I've recently bought an Nvidia Shield and I was wondering about the missing apps in the UK (All4, My5, ITV Hub) as they are available on the Fire TV is there any way to get their TV interfaces working with Android TV? I assume they must just be APKs like any other Android device?

I just got an NVIDIA Shield and am looking for some good/useful apps. I have Kodi, Netflix, ES File Explorer, and a couple emulators. I'm not very familiar with Android TV and I've noticed quite a few of my favorite apps (Solid Explorer for example) don't even show up at the play store... so what other apps should I look into?

As its been a while since the killer update, and as we all know we can not use the unsupported app store on Pled Shield, has anyone found a way of getting Trakt working? Its the last piece of the puzzle for me to ditch my HTPC, as I sync my on deck with my tablet.

Is it possible to add 2 game pads with Sony android TV and play 2 player games?? My Sony android TV is registered with my google account and it allows only one game pad to be connected for any android tv games that i have downloaded from google play.

Is there any hack / alternative to attach 2 or more game pads with one android TV and play multiplayer games like you play in Xbox or PS?

I just purchased a Shield Pro (missed Prime day sale) and so far I like the PROMISE of the unit, but have been disappointed in the experience. The UI seems very laggy/sluggish in terms of responsiveness under 3.2.

Shield TV is on a 1Gb hardwired connection to Vizio 4k tv.

I have PMS Server running (pointing to NAS for all Video content), and several Google Play apps installed.

Is there something I am missing in the config that would be causing it? I have a FireTV (v1), AppleTV 4, etc. and they are not nearly as lagging in usage.

Tempted to do a reset and see if the BASE install is still laggy, of if it is related to an installed app.

I know you can cast from the photos app on your phone. But how is it that there isn't an android tv google photos app still. Why doesn't google support their own platform?

The screensaver on my Nexus Player is different tonight that it was this morning (new imagery, font and layout). Has anyone else noticed this update? Has anything else changed?

Edit: Still 6.01 June 1st Security; I guess they just updated the backend for Daydream.

There is an early access version, and I'm currently in limbo over cancelling Dish and either going with the Vue in hopes of a future leanback enabled app, or renting a cablecard and using an HDHomeRun Prime. With HDHomeRun Record we could use the Shield to record from our cablecard which sounds great, but I don't want to dive in without knowing if it works well or not.
