According to NCAA MBB's main blurb, the channels the games will be broadcast on will remain TBS, CBS, TNT and truTV.
CBS is fine as I get that through an antennae, but the other options are all missing for a cord-cutter (though I do have access to my parents Xfinity account for app authentication).
Just reaching out and wondering if anyone else has any solutions other than plugging in a computer with an HDMI cord--which is likely what I'll have to do I'm afraid.
It's still in beta ATM - but allows you to use more types of tuners that just being limited to HDHR units (can also be used with HDHR units though). https://forum.dvblogic.com/viewtopic.php?f=100&t=30679 After 'issues' with the HDHR View plugin and the guide data it was/wasn't providing me (look at how many people have to post to their forums to get this or that channel info/lineup fixed constantly) I uninstalled it and tried DVBLink to use with Live Channels in Android TV. Thought I'd post some screenshots here of what it looks like. One cool thing you can do with the DVBLink server software that you can't with HDHR View is edit the channel numbers, like a bunch of us used to do with or without Guide Tool in WMC and have that refelct in the Live Channels app - so no 2.2 or 708 channel for what the others in your house might just now as channel 2 ( can't even do it on my Tivo :P ). You can even change the channel names, so instead of WPBT-DT I could rename it just PBS in my case. This is running off one of my HDHR units, but with DVBLink you can use other tuners as well and get them into the Live Channels app. Also you can stretch any 4:3 content to 16:9 in the Live Channels app - which you can only do in HDHR View if I recall but not Live Channels when using HDHR View as your input source (for those one-off shows/channels that don't get watched too much cause they're not HD, but get watched nonetheless). Plus, no constant/always on internet connection needed with this - so for times where your internet or SD's servers have gone down (as has already happened) - you'll still have whatever TV guide data is loaded into your db (like it was/is with WMC)! You can use a number of guide data providers with DVBLink - some paid and/or some free. Some provide show images, some don't. I'm not sure if any provide channel logos. Still getting my hands dirty with it all TBH. You can get free data for your lineup from Zap2It and use that with DVBLink (zap2xml and import to DVBLink) or use even the EIT data encoded in the signal if you use OTA. All in all I'd say it's pretty darn neat. I had already edited the channel numbers in the lineup to my liking (their SD equivalents) before taking these screenshots - but here it is before I renamed the stations: http://i.imgur.com/dVkr8vp.png And after: http://i.imgur.com/0KKO5n0.png http://i.imgur.com/VLqB1ZB.jpg http://i.imgur.com/kBSsq9P.jpg So if you want to use Android TV Live Channels and don't have a HDHR tuner - or don't wan't to rely on SD for guide data or just have problems with their guide data and would like to use something else - here you go :)
