Color me disappointed.

Was expecting a lot from this prezzo, but it doesn't look like the Android R&D / Nexus budget is going anywhere guys.

What it feels like we instead got was an improved streaming device, new tablet, and overpriced Nexus phones looking more and more like iDevices.

Epic fail, Google. :/

I am getting no sound when I use Netflix on my Nexus Player. I'm running it through a Pioneer VSX-90 receiver. The audio works in the menu, I hear the clicking, but none once video starts.

When I use the Android control app for the receiver, it reports that it's getting 2.0 sound, but there isn't any. Works fine from my fiancee's Apple TV, other apps work fine with the Nexus player. Not sure what to do here.

So I've been searching for a decent way to play music while gamestreaming on my SHIELD. The best way I've found is by playing the music on Google Play music, then launching the stream through Moonlight (gamestream stops the music when it launches). My only problem with this setup is that the volume is much higher on the music than the game and there's no way to change this. The app even dampens the sound of the game when a track is playing, and in between tracks the game blares.

Has anyone found a better way? Is there perhaps a way to get music on my PC playing through the stream? I've tried with Spotify but it doesn't pick up the audio on Gamestream at all.

Essentially what makes me wanna do this is the lack of soundtrack on the new Mad Max game, so I want to play with the Fury Road soundtrack in the background, but not blaring over the game like it currently is.

Any suggestions?

For some reason Modern Combat 5 isn't recognizing neither my Nvidia Shield or Mogo Pro controllers. I figured they should work since the game is in the Play Store and I've also seen some people on YouTube demoing it on the Shield. Any suggestion?

I see mixed reviews about this game pad on Amazon. I'm debating getting it for the potential of using it like a mouse too in Kodi.

Any other game pad suggestions that have the same feature?

Has anyone got Just Dance Now working on their Nvidia Shield TV? Mine just says failed to connect. The Shield actually goes to a black screen but the mobile device says failed to connect. :(

This box has lots of potential but its just so clunky. I got it on amazon but i think ièm going to return it. i have a roku and i cant get hardly any apps that i had on there to run properly on this new box. am i doing something wrong. ive been getting apps from the google play store. is there another app store i should be using

Honestly if i could get a decent plex and Netflix interface on this M8X+ then id probly keep it.

I'm wondering if anyone knows of a way to change the settings of the Backdrop daydream on the Shield TV to show photos from your own albums.

It's easy to do on the Chromecast with the Chromecast app but the Shield TV doesn't show up in that app. I guess because of the difference between Chromecasting and Google Casting?

I have an external hard drive with about 200 movies on it. I attached it to my Nexus Player, Im able to access the hard drive with ES File Explorer but Kodi will not allow me to add it as a video file source. Doest list it when browsing to add as source. Am I doing anything wrong or need to add something?

Long time GoogleTV via Logitech Revue user here. Set up the player last night and started tinkering but am hoping to get a jump start on adapting my user experience and have a few questions:

1. Universal Keyboard Is there a way to link my Logitech Revue keyboard to the device? If not, are there any recommended universal/unifying keyboard suggestions? Ideally, I'd like to use one small keyboard to control my TV, Player and soundbar system.

The Revue was bulletproof with integrating to third party devices, but I'm not noticing any such native capabilities on AndroidTV yet.

2. YouTube App Alternatives? Right until Google neutered the legacy YouTube API, my favorite GTV go-to app was YouTube.

The AndroidTV version is woefully inadequate compared to the legacy GTV version, and judging by the feedback on the Play Store it does not look to improve any time in the future.

Ideally I'm looking for the basic YouTube functions (like, save, history) infinite-scroll channel video list, related videos by channel (which aren't diluted based on my watch history) and easy access channel's additional content with the same infinite-scroll channel video list.

3. HDMI Passthrough Support I know the Nexus Player only features HDMI-out, but have heard you can integrate TV live streaming via devices like HDHomeRun Prime - has anyone tried this out and is it worth it? Not looking to eat up yet another port on my TV's HDMI jacks if this is required.

4. Amazon Instant Video Any viable workarounds or alternatives available for the Nexus player here?

5. Popcorn Time Haven't tried this on AndroidTV yet, but was wondering if PopcornTime has a native AndroidTV-capable app? Tried it on the GTV unsuccessfully.

6. Kodi/XBMC Used XBMC on my OG Xbox via the Splinter Cell Linux exploit and loved it - is there a good crash course I should look to for getting up to speed on the latest flavor?

7. Game Streaming from PC I have an older i7 build with a GTX 660, any suggestions for available game streaming options?

Would anyone anyone with a ShieldTV please be willing to download this free game from GooglePlay and confirm that they are having this problem as well? I can already tell I will lke the game and would like to buy the $1.99 version, but am concerned that I'll have the same problem.

It would be nice to know if it is just me, or an issue with this software. Grab tricks are a huge part of snowboarding games, and without them it is nearly impossible to score points.

Anyone else having the same issue? Every time I press go to sleep from the controller or remote it powers down and then wakes right back up. No number of times pressings it fixes it. I have to get up and manually turn it off every time. Getting really annoying (first world problem I know)

I've done some research and haven't found anything conclusive as to whether or not Minecraft can be played on Android TV (specifically the Nvidia Shield TV). According to Nvidia's website, the "game does not include native controller support but has a custom "Controller Mapper Profile" specifically created for NVIDIA SHIELD". Can anyone confirm this and that it can be mapped with the Shield TV?

Just bought Chinatown wars on my Android TV, but can't control it with the gamepad. Anyone else have this problem? Box is Shield TV.
