I don't currently have an Android TV device but I have been considering getting the NVIDIA Shield. I wanted to know how casting works when an actual app exists on the device. For instance, if I am browsing Netflix on my phone and hit cast, will it launch the cast version of Netflix, or the app version? Can I still select a video and control playback on my phone? Does the same apply to other streaming apps like Hulu and Plex? Thanks.

1. Can i view my photos in google photos

2. Will Pluto tv show up in the live channel app or in its own app

3. Can i get ccloud tv in the live channel app. Is there another way to get ccloud other than xbmc

4. Can i download xbmc from playstore or do i need to side load it

5. Can i use voice search to interact with plutotv or xbmc

6. Can i use voice typing in xbmc

7. hows the video performance in xbmc on the nexus player

8. How can i watch local tv from the antenna in android tv other than HDhomerun. Are thee cheaper alternative to Hdhomerun that works with android tv. Can i use a cheap usb tuner with android tv

Is there anything else i need to know. Also what other cool thing can i do with the android tv

Hey all I need advice on which box I should get. I am a current owner of Nexus Player. I got this box at launch, and the only real issue I have had is with the Netflix app losing my login.

I currently use my Nexus player for Kodi,Casting, a few games (NBA Jam/Beach Buggy), and a video apps. have a GTX 750 Graphics card which I have tried to use with Moonlight game streaming, with limited sucess. (I think its my network connect, I am using powerline 200 Mps Ethernet).

I have been looking at the Shield TV, but can't find a reason to purchase it for $200. I don't game often, and I am happy with my Nexus Player. Android M will add external HD support, so is there any reason I should get the Shield over the Nexus. Does Gamestream work much better on the official client vs Moonlight?

I have a pretty crap computer in terms of streaming so I'm looking into an android TV to stream NFL game pass and soccer (football). The thing is I have NO IDEA how android TV works, I've read up on it a little, watched some videos but I'm thinking the reddit community could help me.

I've seen online Kodi has a football streaming thing, is it free ? How do I install it ? Also, this would be just for streaming football, NFL and netflix so do I really need a top of the line Android TV or does a cheaper one off Banggood.com fit the bill ?

Would I be able to plug in an Android TV through HDMI on my laptop computer ? (I feel this is a very dumb question, but am curious as I can't use a TV so I would need to put the android tv box on a computer screen.)

My shield TV keeps loosing controller pairing on reboot.

It took a bit of experimentation for me to find a gamepad setup for my Nexus Player. I wanted to avoid the standard Nexus gamepad and try out the other big time console controllers. And do it without any additional apps or rooting and via the USB connection (with a USB 2 Go adapter). Following is the data I've collected.

• XBox 360: non-functional
• XBox One: non-functional
• Wii U Pro Controller: non-functional
• DualShock 2 (via USB adapter): non-functional with my particular adapter.
• DualShock 3: non-functional. NP reported "controller attached" but no inputs other than the D-pad worked.
• DualShock 4: functional!

DS4 worked immediately when attaching. Tried it out on both Pac-Man 256 and Final Fantasy IV.

I wanted to avoid using any sideloaded apps or bluetooth trickery so my remote would still work.

Here's to some fun NP gaming in my future!

Rumor has that Apple is making their own device like the Shield. Seeing as Apple polishes their software and Google shows little love for ATV, I am worried this will destroy the Shields' and Androids chances to take over the living room.

We all know the casual gaming catalogue on the Apple Store is superior, developers love Apple.

Nexus Player on the latest 6.0 preview. Netflix Build 897 does not run, it only gives me the "Unfortunately, Netflix has stopped" error.

I own a Sony Android TV and I really like it so far. My biggest issue is the YT app. The subscription list doesn't seem to update often enough. Sometimes I have do delete the history of watched videos or force close the app to see the new videos.

Btw is there a way to pin certain channels to the left bar. The alphabetical list is quite useless to be honest.

I downloaded an emulator, but opera can't download stuff it seems... And I don't know how I could access the file system and put roms on it.

Why does the weather network create a second app link in nexus player? It's very annoying. It's the only app associated with it.

Am I missing something here? The Nexus player is supposed to have CC support built in but the only app I am able to get a cast option on is Youtube. My other apps: Netflix, Pocketcast, Google Music don't give me a cast option.

We just got a Sony Bravia KDL-50w800c.

We plugged in our old Chromecast stick before we realized that Chromecast was actually built into the TV. (Not mentioned in any manuals or anything. Yes, that should have been intuitive. Whoops.) However, we can't get the built in Chromecast to work. We unplugged the Chromecast stick (would be nice to use it on the old TV in another room).

When we try to cast, the TV will pop up as a device to link to, but when we try to connect nothing appears on the screen and the cast is instantly disconnected. We've tried casting with Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Tab 4: exact same results both times.

We've tried restarting devices and router (Cisco Linksys E2500).

Screen mirroring does work. The old stick works. Built in Chromecast does not.

Did we permanently screw up our brand new TV by plugging in the Chromecast stick?

Update: Fixed! Start and stop the app, and then restart the TV. It was definitely a conflict with the Chromecast stick.

I'm wanting to remove links for items like movies and tv's and music. Is this possible? Also is there a way to log in with more than one account?

If so how? I have the ace stream apk loaded but when I try to play an fee stream link in p2p in kodi it counts down and says torrent not available or invalid. It looks like the ace stream engine never starts. I would alleviate any help I can get.
