In addition, many of you have asked for Neflix and Amazon Prime support. We are still pushing forward trying to get Netflix and Amazon to support this and hope that sometime in the future we will have both apps on the device. In the meantime, there are many other great apps, even ones that include free content such as Crackle, Vudu, and others.

Is there an easy way, within the youtube app, I can swap from my profile to my fiance's and back, without having to enter password and username each time.

I have bought a new 4K TV without HDR (VU TV - Stupid, I know). Now, is there anyway to play HDR content on it (using Kodi or other media players) without the colors being faded or washed out?

The app I'm usimg tells me there is an update that is needed but when I select to update the app...the update button is greyed out and my Andriod tv doesnt allow me to selecr it. I have the Sony XBR-55X900E

I currently have an issue where Pluto.TV shows 6 of each channel in the Live Channels guide, with only one, at random, showing channel guide data.

I have tried clearing Pluto.TV s cache data and removing the app, clearing Live Channels cache and data and then reinstalling Pluto.TV's without any luck.

Open to other suggestions short of disabling 600-700 channels, one by one (it shows about 900+)

I installed TV App Repo but it doesn't seem to help... Help please! This is so frustrating. I have a Sony x900e FWIW.

So my dad just bought a 4K TV. But its a Panasonic and does not have android TV. But apparently most of the good apps for 4K content are on Android TV.

We have an android box we haven't used since we bought it really, could you flash android tv on to that, hook it up, and it would recognise the 4k tv and give us 4k content?

Hey guys, I was wondering if I was doing this wrong, so I'd like to ask you, do you use your personal Google accounts in your Android TV boxes? If not, why and what do you do instead?

Does anyone know of a decent android tv box running Android Oreo?

I just changed my home router to TP-Link VR600 and there is an issue with my wired MiBox which I never had.

When I plug the ethernet cable between the streamer and the router I got a "connected" notification and then after like 20 seconds it get disconnect and so the loop continues. I have no problems while on WiFi.

Also, I have another MiBox so I tried it too and it's the same. I also tried changing the cable and the port but nothing helps.

Anyone got an idea why it's happening?

Why is it that with a Chromecast, I can tell assistant to play Stranger Things from Netflix on the living room TV, but I can't do that with an Android TV?

With a Chromecast I can tell assistant to turn on the living room TV, but I can't with Android TV. You would think that Google would have the right contacts within Google to have that kind of integration.

Overall, I have to say that I'm very disappointed with Android TV and Assistant. They have lots of great features but they just don't work together.

How we can use miracast option on mi box as there is no direct application for that

I've been using Chromecast happily for a few years. I'm looking for a local device for a couple reasons (more reliable/less buggy and local USB playback).

In particular, I need:

• common apps (Netflix, youtube, sports - MLB and DAZN)
• local USB playback - I have a WD passport I'm planning to use. Anything that organizes the media is ideal but not needed
• ability to chromecast to it would be great but not needed
• goood wifi - can't do ethernet

A little background: I have a couple of external HDDs filled up with a few terabytes of anime fansubs I've collected over the last dozen years or so. Most of them are in MKV container, H.264 10-bit video, and effect-heavy Advanced SubStation Alpha subtitles in a track separate from the video (though I also have a sizable collection of old hardsubbed XviD encodes).

I need a small box ("game console sized" or smaller) that can playback these files on a non-smart HDTV with zero lag or stuttering. The files can either be stored locally on the device, or if it can utilize my HDD with a USB3 port, that works too.

I want to take these to a vacation home and lugging my desktop computer up there is a pain in the neck. I used to have a laptop, but I sold it because I rarely used it. I'd much rather have something where I can just stick the box and my HDD next to the TV and control it with a remote.

Some Google searching led me to the Xiaomi MiBox 3, so I went to Walmart to check that out, but looking at the box, it seems that that device is more suited for someone who wants to stream their content from the cloud - not for someone like me who has all of their content stored locally. Is the MiBox a good choice for what I'm trying to do, or can you recommend something better?

My little girl wanted to play jetpack joyride on the shield tv but it's not in the app store. I side loaded it but was unable to play because you have to touch the screen to start. I tired every button combination but nothing worked. I was just pressing all kinds and then either pressing the back button or exit and another button made a cursor come up on the screen. I was then able to control the mouse cursor with the right stick and click A as a screen tap to start the game. I am trying to repeat as now she wants to play again but I'm not sure what it is I'm doing to get it going besides pressing random buttons til it works.

EDIT - Figured it out, just pressing the back button on the controller brings up the prompt to exit the game. Then you just move the right stick and the mouse comes up and you can click anywhere to start the game.
