Thanks so much for loosening your proprietary grip gentlemen! A much better and smoother casting solution than the jury rigged way I was doing it with the PC app.

Just recently received my Shield TV (2017) which seems to be a huge upgrade over the Nexus Player. My only issue is when I try to use assistant to play Netflix or HBO shows it tells me it doesn't support individual TV shows and episodes. Am I missing something? I do believe I have a pending update for the remote which I attempted but it failed.

EDIT: The update to the remote and a reboot got it working.

I have one easy step left for my Task, I thought. I use Tasker on my Mi Box Android TV to open Spotify, and I need to send a keypress, OK button on my remote for it to start playing. But as this device is not rooted I cannot go into Input/Button or Dpad. So what are my options? Is it possible to send this button press with an intent?

Any ideas?

I use FLIRC and Harmony remote and I want to trigger Assistant with a button. Does anyone know the keyboard shortcut to trigger voice search?

Here's what I'm trying to accomplish:

Tell Google Home to 'Turn On' or 'Turn Off' TV.

I do not have a Harmony Remote (nor do I really want one), but I do have a Shield TV connected.

I thought this would be a simple command to understand as my Shield TV through CEC controls the TV power (so basically turn on shield, tv turns on. Turn off shield, tv turns off, vice versa whatever)

So what ends up happening is I say 'Turn on Shield' and it does exactly what I want. HOWEVER - Google Home then continues to elaborate on a long phrase about not being able to control the tv power because it is not yet configured or whatever. Every. Single. Time.

What do you guys do to circumvent this or is there a simpler solution I am blind to (ifttt, phrases etc.)?

Can anyone confirm or deny if issues with HDHomerun have been fixed with latest updated?

Had to turn it off, everything was buffering or freezing constantly. Anybody seeing this same problem?

Hi everyone. I recently find out Sony Select has many apps that are not available at Google Play, such as Claro Video. I had tried extract it from a Sony TV update package but it didn't work. If you own a Sony TV and can take a little of your time to extract it and send it to me I would be very grateful.

As a former Xiaomi Mi Box 3 user I’ve acknowledged that such box wasn’t for me, as I don’t want to hassle myself with stutter and lag, I’ve a 4K TV and I’d like to explode it’s value.

With that being said and after getting my refund the path was very clear, a Nvidia Shield is the way to go, and reading over here noticed that it tends to go down in these days, which is perfect cause helps me to justify the price more.

The only big problem is, that i cannot find it anywhere, my country is Mexico and the official page of Nvidia doesn’t ship it to where I live. My only choice was Amazon MX but unfortunately the is so expensive currently that I don’t think it’s going to be cheap with the incoming deals (they are selling the basic unit for 312 USD for reference).

If Amazon doesn’t re stock I’d like to know sites that ships it to here without absurds shipping times or costs.

I’ve been eyeing eBay too but that site falls in the last point.

Any help is welcome.

After months of problems with HBO GO chromecasting to MIBOX3 it seems that latest Chromecast update fixed this issue. Strangely enough, Google also changed apk name into Chromecast built-in and my version is v1.27.96538

I currently own a nvidia shield 2017 and it works great. Im considering buying a mi box for another TV. I would just be using it for Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, kodi, web browser and streaming apk apps. I do have strong wifi in my house. Will the mi box be able to handle all my streaming needs without any issues? Or will I notice a big performance difference from the shield? Or is there another worthy Android box on the horizon, worth waiting for. Thanks

Netflix on the Mibox doesn't output 5.1 surround sound. SPMC does

And yes, my digital sounds setting is on HDMI. I had to force it, as auto-detection goes to SPDIF.

And yes, my receiver is DD/DD+ capable.
