I've tried Kodi v17, Plex, and SPMC with a variety of settings and I can't seem to get DTSHD to passthrough to my Denon AVR. The only time it ever works is with a clean install and Kodi on the first run, but if I leave and restart the app, it won't work and I get silence. If this is working for anyone, can someone share their settings?

Had my Shield 2015 for around a year now.

When using Ganestream, whenever the screen on my PC goes off, the stream stops.

Is this usual? My PC is in the same room as the Shield and it's so distracting have them both firing away.

Could someone point me to a good guide to getting old school emulators and ROMs working on Shield TV? Preferably text based but a YouTube video would be OK too.

After my new AndroidTv started up (after installing 5.0.1 update) it started making a whirring noise. It's quite loud, easily noticeable from 10 feet away. It's definitely from the box and not from the ac adapter.

if I restart the shield, the noise goes away. However, once you do something like start watching TV with Playstation Vue or a video on Netflix, the noise will start up again. Once it starts, it never goes away.

I've only owned 1080p hdmi devices so I expect the cables run on an older version of HDMI? What are good inexpensive cables that will definitely output 4k, 60fps, HDR etc? Frustrated it's not included in the box.

You can successfully use these together, but you have to add as a generic BT device, not a Shield Accessory.

It seems to set itself to off whenever i try to write a big file to it.

I have my shield TV connected to an Ethernet cable via powerline adapters and it will not connect. I previously had a mi box set up the same way and it was able to connect to the internet, but for whatever reason the shield will not. Anyone having an issue connecting via Ethernet cable?

I recently purchased the new 2017 Nvidia shield TV and was wondering how I can use my Bluetooth headphones instead of plugging in my wired headphones. I tried connecting via Bluetooth from the settings menu, but it was unable to find my Bluetooth headphone. Any advice would be great since I was unable to find this answer. Thanks!

So after the latest firmware update on the new Shield TV, my icons keep moving every time I wake it up from sleep. I don't have auto arrange enabled, so that's not the the problem.

Not a huge issue, but it's a little annoying. Is anyone else having this problem?

I went searching and it sounds bad but they all sound like that around release. Has it improved itself? If I do get a Mi Box is there a universal remote I could use with it?

Hey all, I am trying to watch the Revenant in 4K through my native Plex app on my Philips PUS6401 4K Android TV. For some reason when I hit pla it starts loading, stops and then reloads Plex resulting in the video not being played. When I'm using the Plex Android app and stream to my tv's built-in Google Cast the same issue occurs. What could be the problem here? I've also tried other streaming apps like Videostream which has the same issue. I will try a different 4K movie tomorrow just to be sure that's not the problem. Is there anyone experiencing the same issues?

Particularly for sports. I have a Mibox with SPMC and I spent a decent amount of time looking at add-ins for streaming sports, rather than having to go to r/NHLstreams etc. on a laptop.. I installed SportDevil and also Pro sport and could navigate to various NHL streams, however I was getting a lot of issues with them trying to load but not doing anything or just not opening at all. Maybe one link out of the handful actually worked and it would close out after about a minute.

Has anyone been successful at easily streaming local sports games on android TV? Maybe there is a better add-in or app with an easier way?

I have a 2015 4k Samsung TV, and I cannot get the HDMI CEC feature to work for me for anything.

I have CEC enabled in the Samsung menu, and it finds my Mi Box just fine, and then from there I can control the Mi Box with my Samsung remote and all, but that's not what I want. From there, I want to be able to turn on my TV with the Mi Box remote. I'm not worried about turning it off with the remote (I've heard that feature doesn't work at the moment), but I can't even get it to turn on at all. Every time I do start up the TV with my Samsung remote (my only current option), CEC doesn't work until I go to the menu, search for the device, and manually connect it. I can then once again control the Mi Box with my Samsung remote, but still cannot turn the TV on when it's off.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am completely confused with why this simple feature just doesn't want to work for me.

For $39.99 it may be a pretty good buy considering the alternatives.

Got the new shield TV today and experiencing problems with the voice search. Pressing and holding the voice button freezes up the screen. So instead i must click the button. In plex it works hearing most of what you say, but on the homescreen the voice search never works. I'll say sobering and 20 second later something close to what i said gets entered. I'm on 5.0 software. Anyone else getting issues from the remote? I also have to point the remote directly at the box which sucks.

I searched the sub for cord cutting posts, but nothing turned up.

Question: Has anyone on here tried ditching cable/satellite completely and replaced it with something similar using Android TV?

The only thing I need is access to major sports events (major and minor soccer matches, football, etc.) and a variety of TV shows and movies.

If you have any suggestions, I would love to stop paying my satellite bill!
