Is anyone else having trouble with A/V sync on the NVIDIA Shield TV? I've had this problem in Netflix ever since getting the Shield. Playback starts fine, but the more I pause/ff/rw, the further off A/V sync gets. I have to stop and resume playback to get it back in sync.

Anyone have any issues logging into Netflix on their Nexus Player? I have a 60-character password (overkill, I know, but I work in Security so I'm paranoid & this makes me feel better), & when I enter the password (yes, carefully, no fat fingering the password) I'm still told the password is invalid. I've tried multiple times, confirmed the password still works in both Chrome & PS4 so it's definitely correct.

I just want to see if anyone else has had this issue, & maybe it could be related to the length? Although the same password works on all my other Android devices.

I guess at this point my only choice is to reset the password to something else & see if I have luck that way. Oh well =\

I'm thinking of buying Razer serval, do I still need a Razer forge TV to use the controller?

The update came out in April and I still don't have voice search in Netflix. I'm running version 3.1.3-1328. Is anybody else having this problem.

Bought an Android box (a cheap £30 one from eBay) to watch Kodi on and I am getting some seriously fluctuating wifi download speeds as per the ookla speedtest app. At some points it'll be hitting 20mbps and others anywhere from 0.05mbps to 2mpbs. Just tested it now twice in quick succession and got 1.5 and 25.8 respectively.

From my Macbook Air, I get speeds of anywhere between 30-50mbps from exactly the same place.

As I'm sure you can imagine, this makes watching Live TV on KODI practically impossible. I'll maybe get 2-3mins of perfect viewing if i'm lucky then it'll start buffering with no success.

Is this normal with android boxes? Is it likely the box has a faulty wifi receiver?

Ethernet cable is not really an option and I'm at a loss as to why it will go from good signal to poor for no reason whatsoever.

I have a mac server and Shield box. I use the server for sending movies to Kodi and Plex as well as lossless music playing (from LMS to SB Player on the Shield) and realised I may also be able to send TV from an EyeTV tuner on the mac to the Shield. I've heard Kodi can do this but I'm really interested in the Live Channels app that's included. The interface looks really nice.

As far as I can see there's been two standard methods of broadcasting TV tuners over a network, IPTV and DLNA. Perhaps these are two acronyms for the same thing?

EyeConnect (official but discontinued) is meant to broadcast the EyeTV tuner over the network by DLNA. I've installed the trial, it says all is good but the Shield Live App shows nothing when I look for other channel sources. I'm not sure if it's meant to pick up DLNA itself or if I need to add an extension? I've attempted to install (the unofficial) EyeTV-IPTV utility which is meant to broadcast EyeTV over IPTV. I can't quite get it to work but am wondering if it's worth persevering or if I should stick to EyeConnect.

Hey everyone. My Shield tv has, out of nowhere, begun to fail playback at random times and then nothing else will work. Applications open but don't load. I've tried resetting my wifi, restarting the Shield multiple times and checking different apps.

For example, I'll be watching a YouTube video and it stops playing after a few minutes. I get an error along the lines of "connection to server was lost." Then after that, even other apps won't work. Wifi strength states good or excellent. This has been happening for days now. Also, backdrop will not load pics like it would on a Chromecast. It goes black and the Shield goes fully to sleep after short inactivity.

Has anyone had this problem?

Any kind of pointers configuring the remote control to play?

About a month now I cannot get 4k to show on YouTube. I tried clear cache, uninstall and reinstall update, switch to another hdmi port. My internet is 75Mbps. Any idea?

I have an Nvidia Shield (16gb) and want to use it as a Plex server, while having a Raspberry Pi add media to the server with Sonarr/Couchpotato and run it with PlexPY/Plexrequests.

At the moment, I have the Pi setup so all of the media is stored on a 5TB HDD attached to my Asus router, and I am able to connect to this via the Shield over WiFi. However, when the Shield sleeps, the connection to the router's drive is lost, and I am unable to stream shows.

To fix this, I have resorted to running PMS on the Pi, but it is not powerful enough to handle serious transcoding, and defeats the purpose of having a Shield for a Plex server.

Has anyone found a fix to network drives disconnecting during sleep or after a certain period of time?

Also, the Android TV app has not worked since the last firmware update that added Plex server capability. So now I have to use the huge controller and charge it very often. Anyone have a fix for any of this? Oh yeah, apps also crash in the background and the notification doesn't go away until you actually select it which is super annoying when watching a movie. Does anyone else have these issues?

Setup : Plex media server with transcode capability (try to direct play as much as possible) Sony X850C Android TV with Play Store loaded Plex App. ARC channel to Marantz SR5009

AC3 works fine, besides the fact I get a slight, almost unnoticeable video "slow-down" every 2 seconds or so only on videos converted from itunes m4v to mp4. I have Mad Max Fury Road in 4K in an M4V container that is flawless in both video and audio playback. At least this way I can get dolby digital pass through to work to my receiver and upmix from 5.1 to 7.1 from there.

Why, then, do I not get pass through "multi-channel in" from a video that has 5.1 AAC? I get direct play, but am only getting stereo to my receiver, which means Android TV or my TV is downmixing it to stereo signal rather than passing it through, correct?

How do I get Plex (and Kodi if possible) to be able to pass all AAC 5.1 channels through to my receiver over ARC? Is it because it is not compressed enough and doesn't have the bandwidth needed?

I'd rather not go back to my 150+ movies that use AAC and convert to AC3, but I'd rather do that than upmix a stereo signal.

Hey guys as the title says I'm trying to add a video to watch later from the Android TV youtube app on the nexus player but it doesn't seem possible. Any ideas?

My Non-smart TV is put up on the wall without any outlets nearby for something like a nvidia shield or nexus player.

I really want to stream games on something that's connected only via HDMI and powered from the TV's usb.

What would be the route to go?

I'll be setting up Kodi when I get home, and Retroarch for classic gaming.

But I'll have tons of learning to do. Any good suggestions?
