I used to use ES File Explorer to transfer media files or sideboard apps to my nexus Player, but it seems to not work anymore. I get a connection fail everytime whether I'm using my nexus phone or my Samsung tablet. I have a 128gb flash drive on the back of the nexus player which is formated to use only on the player. Which means if I unplug the USB drive (with otg) and directly plug it into my phone ES File Explorer can't read that formatted drive. Any other ideas on how to transfer files?

I want to get a second controller for my NST. The Shield controller is nice, but for games like Borderlands the pre-sequel the middle captive buttons can be annoying and not register some times.

It looks like the Xbox 360 controller + adapter is a slightly cheaper alternative to the Shield controller, plus I've always been a fan of the feel and layout of the 360 controller. Are there any issues using the Xbox xontoller like button mapping issues? Thanks.

As if I haven't had enough audio issues with my SHIELD I am realizing that casting to my TV directly (2016 P-Series w/ integrated Google cast) is giving me way less headaches than using the SHIELD. Netflix has ongoing issues with 5.1, where my sound won't play and my video stutters. Plex must be put on passthrough for my AVR to pick up and surround tracks and now HBO GO will come through stereo when cast to the SHIELD. Casting to my TV and my AVR immediately picks up the DD track.

Does anyone have 5.1 working well on the SHIELD? It's starting to drive me crazy.

I just built a new pc and am finally taking more advantage of game stream. There are a few older games that I never played through that I will finally work my way through, but I am curious what other games people have had success with.

What games are you playing? What games work well with multiple controllers? What not officially supported games have you found to work well when manually added?

Yesterday I received my Nvidia Shield TV and I updated everything but ES Explorer crashed all the time and couldn't access to my external hdd to install an apk and some roms. It detected it, but then with the joystick was impossible to access.

Do you know any workaround or other file explorer that works?

I want to put the TV display to sleep and just play music, the same way I would with my phone. It's just too bright to sleep with it on but the music would be nice to keep playing. Any ideas?

We all think that Android TV is good enough to use in a daily basis. That being said, what is the one missing feature that you believe would bring it over the top?

Has anyone tested this? Curious how well it works for us folks that remux only.

Pretty much just what the title says. I'm currently using SPMC launcher version (just have to press menu from anywhere to return to SPMC) and I love the thing. I don't even see the leanback launcher at all. I'm still on lollipop though because I heard you can't re-assign the launcher for the home button in Marshmallow? Any truth to that? Would love to keep everything setup the way it is now on Marshmallow. Thanks!

It'd be great to have the option to turn it on & off, but Google should lock it down so that developers don't get ridiculous.

Hey, I am thinking of rooting my shield pro but I don't know if it's really worth it. All I can think of as a pro is ad blocker. I like the default launcher and the Android TV os and don't see any other benefits. Can anyone tell me any other benefits? Thanks.

I am a Nexus Phone user an an long time Google customer. All my services are on Google my email , my media , my backup. I want to get a GOOGLE set top box for my TV , I'm currently using a Roku , but I want to get a Nexus player . As the nexus player is discontinued and there is the Xiomi coming out is there any hope for Google to keep developing Android TV or It will switch to Chrome cast. there is Some Sony tv's with Android TV but I don't want to Change my TV

I want to get Google Home , and connect it to my phone , my tv my tablet. The Current Nexus Player is too slow for 4k and I want to be future proof. The Xiomi is not Nexus so I'm not sure if it will be updated + I don't want bloatware.

I'm in the UK and just imported an Android TV from Europe. I started to reset the TV and it's giving me a list of countries, but the UK is not included. Is there any way to select my country, or have I just made a big mistake importing an android TV?
