I downloaded a modified Directv now apk I found on here from a sendspace link. I've had it on my mibox a couple days and it sucks. Channels are slow loading up and when they do the audio is fine but video stutters and goes frame by frame. This goes on for about 30secs before picking up and running normal, but you can notice a lack in resolution. Yesterday I installed the same apk on my Nexus player and it runs absolutely fine. Channels take a couple secs to come up, stream starts in bad quality but goes straight to HD in a few seconds with no lack in resolution.

Wondering if anyone else encountered this on the mibox and if there's some fix? It certainly should run it just the same as the Nexus player if not better shouldn't it?

I'm looking at these cheap android boxes and would like to try one. I have a first Gen firetv on one of my tvs and want to play with one of these cheap Chinese boxes, any suggestions?

Can someone help me decide between the Official xiaomi gamepad and the Nexus player gamepad from Asus? Both seem a good option. I want it to play games on my mi box, is it recommended or everything is slow and I just need to keep my money

Hi, some apps aren't available in my country. I've tried using vpn's like Betternet & smart dns. The Play Store still seems stuck to my country. Should I log out of my google account/clear data first before I turn on vpn? Some in depth tutorials on how to do it would be appreciated, thx.

i am really frustrated with my new sony x900e. i’ve had it for maybe three months now and it’s so slow! are all smart tvs like this?

when i first got it i downloaded a lot of apps cause i was excited but i quickly deleted all of them and just kept a few like the essentials: hbo, showtime, hulu, netflix and spotify. did downloading all those apps in the first place slow down my tv? i also connected my 1tb hard drive to the tv to watch some videos but it took forever to read my drive (probably shouldn’t have done that). did that affect my tv?

when waking up the tv, it takes forever to get to the main menu and it’s said “leanback launcher has crashed” or sometimes along those lines. watching youtube “error has occurred” pops up when watching videos and even videos are laggy.

are there some tips to recovering the speed on my tv before i resort to a factory reset? thanks!

I can't stand how slow and clunk the Youtube app is. It's also not designed to work on the smart box it seems.

Running a Sony TV and Kodi I'm guessing auto updated to 12.4. Had the Artic Zephyr skin and my guess is it's not compatible cause all I'm getting are blank black screens and text is all buggy. So I'm trying to roll back Kodi via the webpage but not sure which file to download. There's 3 choices; arma-v8a, arm, and x86. This tv is my only Android experience and I'm not familiar with these. Appreciate some help there. It's a Sony 700D if it matters at all and I opted out of updating to O. Settings say I'm on Version 7.0 and from a quick web search I'm gathering that's Nougat.

Hello guys, I'm brazilian and got a mi box to watch IPTV and netflix.

I would like to ask you guys if it's possible to use some sort of USB TV Tuner to watch OTA channels plus record some content on the mi box.

So I have a 2015 shield TV, fully up to date. I have an external HDD attached via usb (not adopted), that has a sleep setting baked in for 30 minutes.

The problem is something keeps accessing the external HDD randomly. Even when I have revoked ALL app permissions, including system apps it accesses it randomly like every hour.

Does anyone else have this issue and have you been able to fix it? It's really irritating.

Not sure if I've enabled something somewhere or whether it's happened as part of an app update but I am now getting a gradient background when moving through the homescreen which is loosely based on the icon / item I'm over.

For example when I am over YouTube the background is a red-y gradient.

No more plain black!

Hi, we have two Mi Boxes. One bought at launch that came with Netflix problems and another one bought in May working fine.

However, both boxes are starting to go dark after they are turned on/awoken from sleep just to watch Youtube, in the main screen, etc.

Both boxes are on heavy use as we dont have cable.

I have began to think that the Mi Box is quality-build like any other generic chinese box, meant not to last more than a few months, if ever a full year. I think its internal connections may get damaged easyly if moved slightly.

Anyone with similar video issues? May be it is a firmware problem?

All apps (including HDHomerun) = normal volume

Live channels with regular sources or even Hdhomerun input = normal volume

But liveChannels with Network Tuner , volume about 30% lower.

Very annoying because switching sources or apps causes volume, and also I can't get full volume output out of TV or doundbar when watching liveChannels with Network Tuner.

Hello, is there a way to install adblock extensions to any of the browsers? Chrome in Mi Box doesn't, and I can't seem to install the latest Firefox Beta to install plugins. Thank you.

I use my roku and use my phone to listen to the video on the tv with wired headphones. Does the Mi box have any feature like this?
