So far, I've been streaming the golf channel app on my phone and casting it to my Mi box. Is there a way to load the app onto the Mi directly? As far as I can see, it's not available on the Google play store.

Just wondering if anyone has a solution to this. Currently I have my harmony send down, down, right, click type commands to my Bravia android tv. I'd really like to get away from this and find a way to just open an app directly (rather than scroll).

Has anyone achieved this? I wish android tv worked like rokus do where they have channels on the harmony :(

I don't suppose anybody here is tech savvy enough to extract the apk of the Fire TV version of the new Hulu app (that does live TV) and upload it to APKmirror so we can sideload it on our Shields and Mi Boxes?

I don't use the supplied remote very often, but it wasn't working so checked the batteries and they were wetter than my mum reading 50 shades.

Hi guys, I've recently bought a Sony XD8088 (I believe this is the X800D in the states), and was wondering if its possible to use wireless headphones with it?

I've tried using the Sony Platinum Headset but it doesn't work, so I would assume it uses something proprietary in its UDB dongle.

Does anyone know of something similar of have recommendations? Any advice would be appreciated :) thanks!

Just picked a mibox up last night, and being the ROM flasher that I am, I want to run the beta that's floating around the internet. Are there any other versions, perhaps closer to the 6-6 release I've heard rumors of being the last beta build?

I was wondering if I have my external hard drive with mkv files connected to my macbook, can I access those mov files and play them through my nvidia shield?

I am not a techie so any help would be apprecieted.

I am enjoying my new 4K TV and definitely glad I chose Sony- the AndroidTV interface is much better than what I saw from Visio and Samsung. However, it's been hit or miss with apps. I have Xfinity, and some channels are supported but others aren't. HBO go, Starz, PBS, AMC, etc etc... It's really annoying to have to switch between TV, AppleTV and Shield just to watch the shows I PAY FOR.
I used to have FIOS and I'm thinking of switching back, but before I do I want to know if I'll have the same problems. Is there a thorough list anywhere of which apps are supported and which aren't?

Just got a Mi Box to replace my current raspberry pi kodi box, Can i use the external hdd that i'm using with the RPI, without formatting it first? The hard drive is formatted to exFAT. Also, is there any support for samba? or anything like that, so i can access the hdd from my pc?

On my Sony Bravia TV, the plex app is transcoding DTS audio on my movies, which is weird because I'm pretty sure the tv supports it.

If I get a shield TV, will the plex app play it without transcoding?

the problem i have is that it seems like the device wont wake up if i plug my keyboard into the device with the transmitter dongle. So does it wake up from sleep from any other bluetooth controllers or keyboards?

ive read the orig remote is IR, is that the issue here? only another IR device will communicate with it to wake up?

Hopefully this version resolves the issue with it activating the screen saver mid-video..?

Because it surely didn't do anything for multi-account logins!

I Have an international Mibox 3 running on the April Nougat Beta and have installed Android TV version of Amazon instant (Sony and NVIDIA versions) and they run fine. However, they will only play trailers when I try full tv or films I get a message telling me 'internet connection error'

Netflix and the BBC player play fine. Could this be a DRM issue?

So today while watching tv through Kodi, suddenly a black screen came on screen showing OpenVPN Connect information. There were a bunch of icons on the top left just like on an android phone. Then it suddenly loaded Sling TV.

There are 2 problems here:

1. I don't have OpenVPN Connect installed. I've NEVER installed that app on this box. The only VPN software on the box right now is TorGuard and I haven't even set it up or logged in yet. I've had "OpenVPN Connect for Android" installed before but thats not the same as OpenVPN Connect which this was.

2. I don't have Sling TV installed. I uninstalled it when I first loaded the mi box. That was weeks or months ago. I'm not even sure how the heck Sling TV LOADED in the first place when the app isnt even installed. I just checked and there is no Sling TV app in my app list.

Anyone else have this weird situation happen to them?

Which remote would pair with the Bluetooth nicely? My OEM remote just died. :(

I have a Shield TV and a Nexus Player. As of a month or two ago I can't connect to either using the remote app on my 6P.

Both show up under the manage connections menu but as soon as I select one it says connecting for a second then goes back to the manage connections screen. I tried downgrading to different versions of the remote app but they're all having the same issue.

Anybody else experiencing this?

UPDATE: Here's the fix

Settings > apps > Android TV Remote service (system app) > clear data > reboot

Then clear the app data from the remote app on your phone, and try to connect again.

Hey guys,

My Nvidia Shield TV (2017) just arrived. My plan was to use this for party games with friends when they're over, using PS4 controllers as my extras besides the original Shield controller.

However, I'm running into an issue where the PS4 controller, after connecting, starts lagging at approximately 30 seconds. Not only that, but the mapping is all off as well - as an example O is X and vice versa. I can't navigate menus because it sometimes doesn't register my button presses, yet alone play games.

The whole reason I bought this thing was to play games with friends on the couch, but right now it's looking like Ill have to take a loss.

Anyone know how to fix this?
