Australian TV Channel AndroidTV Native Apps

I am living abroad and the only apks I can find are ABC iView and 10Play which work fine with a VPN. The 9Now apk I found seems to be mobile only.

Does anyone know which Aussie channels have AndroidTV native apks available for download?

Thanks

I would like to "remap" the Netflix and Prime Video buttons on my Xiaomi MiTV Stick remote

As the title says - I have tried a few different things ("ButtonMapper" app, "Downloader" app) at this point, unfortunately with no luck. I'm asking here now, considering I noticed that those other methods were all very outdated - all the way back to 2 years ago! So, I am looking for an updated version on this, since I rarely use Netflix and don't even have a Prime Video subscription, and really love the idea of going to an app with one click on the remote. So, I would love to hear if anyone knew a method to make this work and could share it with me, unless it turns out, that you can no longer do this, in that case, please let me know.

Thank you!

What TV boxes are supporting Dolby Atmos in major streaming services?

The Homatics Box R 4K Plus has so far Dolby Atmos passthrough support for Netflix and HBO Max while Disney+, Star+ and Prime Video only support Dolby Digital Plus.

I wonder what AndroidTV/GoogleTV boxes (not televisions) besides the Nvidia Shield are supporting Dolby Atmos in all services.

Does yours support Disney+, Star+ and Prime Video?

Turn on TV box remotely (Alexa, wakeon lan)

hellow, I'd like to turn on my TV box using some kind of automation. The first idea was using Alexa, I can turn off the device but I didn't find a command to send a wake on lan to my device. Also I don't know if android TV boxes that use cable/lan have this feature. Can someone help me?

Feel free to also send some help and tips to other kind of automation, I have abertosonorus, tasker and iftt that made me love even more Android TV.

ARC issues.

Having converted from optical to ARC on our sony 65x9000c and a LG Blu-ray home theater system I'm facing some issues and unsure what to do and this is new to me. I've tried to mention whatever I can that I think is pertinent, but I don't know what I don't know.

The issue is if I turn off the TV that turns off the home theater which is fine however next power on from standby the home theater just goes to it's home screen instead of saying ARC and letting the TV do what it was doing (usually Plex or Netflix).

Home theater is set to bitstream, and all works fine if I cold boot or reboot the TV (hold power button on remote).

I've changed the HDMI lead as well.

Any ideas appreciated

Anybody use Paramount+?

This may seem like an odd question, but I'm asking in this sub because I think the issue might stem from the Play Store app or the AndroidTV platform. I currently only have GoogleTV devices in my home (CCWGTV & ONN 4K).

Just started Paramount+ a week ago, and from what I can tell you cannot "resume" a video and must fast-forward to find where you left off. Also, I cannot find a "Continue Watching" section. Is this the case on your AndroidTV device? Is this the case on Roku or AppleTV? I just can't believe a major streaming service doesn't have that stuff in 2022.

Disable Dolby Vision in Apple TV App

Hello, I want to disable Dolby Vision in the Apple TV app on my Cromecast with Google TV 4K. It is connected to a Samsung Odyssey Neo G7, which supports 4K HDR10+. The Cromecast even says that Dolby Vision isn't supported but Apple TV still tryst to use it. As a consequence my image is waaaay to dark to enjoy the shows. One way to bypass this is to turn off HDR entirely but I really want to use it. Is there a other way than this or to rip the content and watch it over Plex?

Google TV Canada content

I'm looking for a good content hub that curates from multiple services. Right now, I use a Firestick because it sort of does that. The only issue is that it puts Amazon content first and everything else as an afterthought. If at all.

The Google TV website and blog make it look like it does this. I used the app on my phone just to see what it can do.

Is the attached photo really all that Google TV can pull content from? Or is there more available on the Chromecast with Google TV?

Thanks buds

GoogleTV sticks and google assistant

I currently use AppleTV as my streaming device, but one thing I'm not happy about is the ability to control things with Assistant. Such as things like

  • turn tv on/off
  • pause/play
  • mute/unmute
  • change YouTubeTV to CBS
  • open Plex

Although I have been able to do some of the above, it’s not natural. I guess Google and Apple aren’t playing nice with each other. I don’t want to have to say, “Ok Google, mute the AppleTV” instead of “Ok Google, mute”

Will the new GoogleTV sticks get rid of this Apple v Google head knocking?

Are there AndroidTV devices without WiFi?

Are there AndroidTV devices that use ethernet and don't have WiFi capabilities?

Context: I'm developing an app and due to our already existing method of authorization I need a Mac address. It doesn't have to be currently used Mac address just a Mac address of the device. It turns out that it is rather difficult to get an ethernet Mac address using react native libraries and WiFi Mac address can be easily access. So I'm wondering if handling a case for no WiFi Mac address is worth spending time.
