This app doesn't show up for me on the home screen. I can see that it's installed in Settings > Apps, but I can't run it. I've seen it get updates from the Play Store.

How can I get this app working?

I have a Shield Pro with the Android Remote app installed; everything pairs correctly. However when I return home and come into range the Shield wants to pair again. The code to pair will pop up on the screen and if the Shield is sleeping it will turn on.

Is there any way to stop this prompting every time? I've been looking for options but have not found anything in the app or online about that.

Will all cast ready apps work on Android TV devices? If so, are there any compatibility issues with different hardware?

I've changed the DNS codes on my Android TV in the static IP setting so I can access Netflix US as I'm in the UK. However, once I change the codes and restart the TV, I have no internet connection through the TV - connection is fine through other devices and with DHCP enabled.

Is there anything I am maybe doing wrong? Do I need to enable static IPs in my router or something?

Edit: I managed to fix my problem. It turns out my router uses a non-standard default gateway and so I was entering an incorrect one, having assumed it would use the 'industry standard'.

I noticed the weather app I downloaded on my nexus player has a live channel...I was wondering what other apps might also do this?

I only have an OTA antenna, but it would be cool to integrate it.

I've been using my Logitech Revue for some time now and since Google finally disabled the legacy version of their YouTube app I am now considering upgrading.

The Play Store reviews for the AndroidTV YouTube app are pretty terrible, so I'm wondering if it will be more of the same issues I now have with GoogleTV.

I have a WatchESPN account and would like to be able to watch it on my TV. There doesn't seem to be an app for it. I have ESPN 3 working through a Kodi add-on, but not the regular ESPN stations.

Maybe this question can't be answered yet, at least, not until Android M is released and on TV boxes (like Nvidia Shield)

How capable is Adoptive Storage? It probably works great for a single external hard drive connected, but what about 2 or 3 self-powered external hard drive connected on a USB hub, also self-powered? Or what about multi-bay hard drive enclosures?

Media files are huge. It would be great to have a way to expand storage as needed...

I have a Shield TV and find that regularly the voice search responsiveness blows. I'll press the nvidia button, but instead of hearing the satisfying "bloop" and seeing the pulsating red microphone icon, the icon will stay in its dormant state (green?) and things just kinda hang up for a moment. Really annoying.

Anyone else see this? Is it specific to the ShieldTV?

This is the only app I use regularly that will put the device to sleep while listening to or watching media.

Has anyone else had this happen? I've seen other posts where consensus seems to be that the google play music app is weak, is that the reason?

Any tricks to keep the device on while listening to music but still have sleep mode available?

There are so many streaming platforms (fireTV, AppleTV, etc.) that content providers can not make an app for every possible platform so they will not create an app for Android TV unless they know there is demand.

I like this Android platform and I hope it is successful and the only way for it to be successful is if it has ALL of the content available.

Since the HBO Now app was recently updated has anyone tried to stream to the Shield TV via Chromecast? Any issues if it worked?

Gamestream just suddenly stopped working, it says that the PC is offline and it just hangs when you click on the steam icon. Here is what I've tried:

Re-installed Geforce experience software Cleared cache and data from the Shield Hub App Signed out and re-signed in with account on both PC and Shield TV Force stop the app on the Shield TV Tested all connections and other Shield apps, which work as normal

When I log out of the account and sign back in, it says I need to sign into my account on my PC(I've tried relogging back in). Then when I press out of that screen, the Gamestream Icon is gone completely

I've been using it for a week with no issues, it seems like it stopped working after the last update. Any solutions?

So let's say I wanted people on our network to be able to push video files to the Shield, for later viewing - is it possible? Would it even be possible to transfer through the device's USB port to an external hdd (making it somewhat like a NAS drive)?

I'm pretty new to Android TV so I apologise if there's an obvious answer to this. I've got a Sony Bravia TV and have attempted to watch a 1080p MP4 movie from a USB stick and a hard drive using both VLC and Arkos - which I have used before with no issues. In both apps, the Movie plays okay for a few minutes, then begins to stutter and eventually the sound is lost. I thought maybe the file was corrupt but after checking it on my laptop the file itself seems fine. Something tells me it might be the fact that the movie is 1080 and the TV is struggling to keep up somehow.

Any ideas?

I have an Inteset INT-422, and I see that my new Shield does indeed have an IR receiver in front. Looking at some amazon reviews, I also see people have had some success with older WMC remotes. Has anyone here been able to accomplish this? Anyone know of a manufacturer that uses similar IR codes that may be compatible?

Does anyone know if Vudu app is available for AndroidTV like the Nvidia shield? I want to have support for Ultraviolet movies i have via Vudu.
