Sorry if this is in the wrong sub, but i think i may have just bricked my box. Long story short, I was trying to update the firmware and used burn card maker whilst following a tutorial. Well, turns out they i should have unticked the erase bootloader box and as a result.. all i get is a black screen!

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm looking for an android box that I can connect to my TV and is HDCP compliant. I am not looking for something that is rooted nor am I interested in something that comes pre-loaded with software that facilitates piracy. I would like to be able to use the google play store to download and install a few tv apps. I would prefer a box that has an Ethernet port. Is there something cheap and cheerful that fits the bill?

I just got the Harmony Hub to control my Shield TV and the default remote setup seems lacking. Buttons that I would expect to be mapped to the Shield TV are mapped to the TV. Any suggestions on button configurations?

So I’m using the latest Kodi Version Krypton and have an external HDD connected to my AirPort Extreme to create a Samba/SMB Nas. Within Kodi I can access all the movies on the drive which are h.264 1080p and some h.256 1080p and some h.256 4K and some even h.256 4K HDR. All of the movies play nice without any drops and almost zero buffering at the beginning.

But the 4K HDR movies somehow stutter extremely, like a slideshow.

The Bitrate and WiFi connection can’t be the problem as i have h.264 movies with 50gb that play buttery smooth.

VLC by the way also plays all the 4K HDR movies perfectly.

Archos player plays most of the files but not the 4K ones.

I am looking for a player that can access my SMB storage (MX-Player can’t do that I suppose) and can hardware accelerate those 4K HDR flies like vlc does. I do not want to use a usb connection because I also use the HDD as a file server.

So which player should I use instead?

Hi, I bought mi box and it works great. I use it with a USB to ethernet adapter and I have no problem with youtube and kodi. I watch 1080 movie perfectly (I have hd tv). With netflix movies start instantly in hd but video and audio have some microblock sometimes. I happens without regolarity. DRMinfo says I have 1.x I tried everythings, changing resolution, changing netflix version (I tried the last 3.x version). There is one thing that works: switching off the device. When it start fresh, if I play directly netflix it works great, but if I start kodi and then netflix it stutter again. I tried to kill apps before antering netflix but it doesn't work....

Somebody have suggestions?

So, I have a Mi Box on the way, and I'm curious to know whether the Nougat betas are stable enough to be used. I quite like some of Nougats features (specifically DVR support), so ideally I would like to use this. However I have heard conflicting reports about the stability of the builds (I do plan on flashing to see how it is for me though). I'm not interested in 4k, HDR or high end audio stuff - I've got an older TV, so it has neither of those things. I'm mostly going to be using this for Netflix, Live TV etc. Any opinions are appreciated.

(yes, I know there are better and more well supported boxes out there, but $100 NZD wasn't too bad, compared to a Shield).

Oddly, both devices are connected to the mibox at the same time.

setting screen shows that both are connected, but the airpod does not play any sound as soon as I connect the xbox one controller. Because the airpod is still connected, the sound does not come out on the TV too.

Eventually, if I dont disconnect the controller, I fall into complete silence.

Is there anyone else who has experienced this problem? Or, if you have a solution, let me know.

Edit: I have tested it further and the result is very odd.

When the controller is connected, no new devices are paired, and when I pair up and turn on the new device, it will only work until I connect the controller. It seems that the Xbox One Controller is preventing other Bluetooth from working.

I cant seem to find Chrome, Opera, Firefox etc. as a web browser, just Puffin. Would that work? I think the site uses flash. I also have an iPad and a Chromecast but it seems you can't cast webpages.

Anyone figure how to get direct tv app working on android tv? sideloading possible?

I've always used a thumb drive to copy and restore my build from kodi user data folder on my Android boxes but mi box gives me an error when I try to do that. Is this not supported on it?

So got kids around. They tinker with everything including remotes. I think they broke it. The buttons work but hit the wrong command. Volume down hits power mode. Is it possible to fix this is settings or is the remote a toss? Any recondition on what I could replace it with?

I installed a OS update about a month ago and about two weeks later I started having an issue. I just lose WiFi about every hour or so. Fixes include a reboot or turning the WiFi off and back on.

Any hints?

Hi! I am facing problems chromecasting videos from my Android phone via VLC 3.0 to my Shield TV. (Using different video formats).the video wont start and ist loading forever with a black screen. Audio casting works without problems. Anyone facing the same issues?

I have a xiaomi mi box 4k and i sideloaded the latest version 1.0.22 and every time I tune into a channel it gets choppy for about 30 seconds and then it clears up. My internet and network is fine. Any ideas how to fix it? I wish I could try the beta version of the app, but I don't have access to it.
