As mentioned on the Android TV News blog (https://androidtv.news/2017/04/whats-new-android-tv-session-many-announced-google-io/), last year had a few app announcements. Any chance will we get an app announcement this year? What are we looking for? I would like the CW app and a DirecTV Now app personally.
Any Canadians here who successfully bought an NA model?
EDIT:
For Canadians looking to get one, here are basically your only 2 options outside of traveling to the states

Make sure the Amazon item comes with NA plug, some comments/reviews aren't concrete as some claim its NA some say its Europe.
TLDR: RetroX cleanest, simplest, least hassle and JUST WORKS for retro gaming.
Backstory...
So after playing most of the games with my 8yr old that are avaliable on GeoForce now and android store I started digging into retro games as I think it is a library with a ton to offer
I went and setup all these things....
However the user-experience (UX) of all the setups just sucks, especially for a kid. The frontends do help but all the controller configs and choosing correct core/emulator and using different apps just overall is not a clean experience.
Then I found RetroX (saw it mentioned here before as RetroBoxTV).
This thing is awesome, very clean and everything I have done with it just works with no hassle.
Unfortunately it is not on the play store =(
You have to sideload it, after you sideload it, it shows up in games section. Then you just copy your ROMS to a USB or over the network and within the App you point at the ROMS. All done, easy.
The Google I/O Schedule has been expanded on the official website, which can be found here https://events.google.com/io/schedule/
It is nice to see Android TV featured in sessions all three days. I can hope this means good things to come, and perhaps more focus on the platform from Google. Of course, I really hope to hear new things about Android TV featured in the main I/O keynote. Here are the Android TV sessions that I saw listed.

Here is the pitiful question....
**"I have upgraded to Nougat beta. DRMinfo shows HDCP "Level Unprotected"
When HDCP 2.2 handshaking fails it should default to HDCP 1.x for Widewine DRM purposes, shoudn't it?! I do not need 4k, just 1080p but even this is impossible.
There is nothing between mibox and the TV, I'm also using the HDMI cable that came with the box.
Is there a way to root the device and trick it into thinking it has HDCP?"**
+_+_+_+_+_+_ Reply follows....
"The MiBox has all the assets it needs to support any level of DRM required.
You are missing the point, DRMINFO is reporting the particulars of your TV, as generated by queries from the MiBox.
MiBox is not able to magically endow your TV with missing HDCP support."
I am the developer of MarketCast which is a stock market app for Android TV and Fire TV. I am debating on releasing the TV app to Canada.
Amazon doesnt sell Fire TV in Canada so that rules them out. Are there any Android TV devices in Canada that sell at all? Sony TVs? Nvidia Shield? Anything else?
Also if you could weigh in on the popularity of competitors like Apple TV, Roku and even Chromecast that would be great!
Thanks!
