I have been trying to follow the guides posted by it only lets me add a Nvidia shield game console .

I cannot add a STB or shield tv.

Has anyone else found a solution to that?

recently I've got my first AndroidTV tv, which is Sony KD49XD. It is connected to the Internet over Ethernet cable and all my home laptops are connected to the same LAN over the WIFI.

Now, the simple question is: what is currently the best way to play movies with subtitles (just as separate files or at least hardcoded..) from my Linux laptops? I've tried Plex today, but it looks quite overwhelming and it forces me to maintain kind of library on my machines, which I simply don't do. Simplicity is important for me but I don't want to loose to much features/compatibility like mentioned subtitles support. There's a lot of DLNA apps available for my distro but I don't want to loose 2 weeks on researching every of them:) And now I'm able to install apps on the TV, so this adds another possibilities. What's the best one?

What is a possibility of someone hacking up a plugin for live channels that supports slingtv, psvue directvnow or ustvnow? my idea is that ustvnow seems the most possible considering the Kodi addon

Saw that Google play has a sale on first movie purchase. UHD only supported on chrome cast ultra? Can't seem to get the option to buy UHD on my shield.

Please PLEASE PLEASE! Hope the title got your attention. I tried asking nicely repeatedly. What version of TeamViewer QS allows to remote control an AndroidTV Box?

I am making a Christmas gift for my parents, but if I cannot remotely fix it for them, my life would be a nightmare. Please!

I tried 10.0.2921 (no remote, only request for screenshot).
I tried 10.0.3027 (no option at all).
I tried 10.0.3224 (says 'supports screen sharing only').
I tried all versions of 11.x.x (all say 'support screen sharing only').
In the end I got my account flagged as "commercial use", for repeatedly connecting with different versions.

Do I need an older version of Client desktop software too?

Please anyone out there, that can successfully remote control AndroidTV, what QS and Client versions do you have?

Manually download them?

And how would I add them to the list of available games?

I am currently using a Roku stick and hate it. The 1/2 screen ad, the screen saver ads, the remote ads, and the ancient looking app UI.

I am thinking the Mi Box (can't afford shieldTV). My questions are:

-Can I have Kodi start up instead of the standard OS when turned on? Or is it more like an App and has to be started like one everytime?

-Does AndroidTV OS and/or Kodi have a ton of ads? I don't mind ads as long as it isn't obnoxious.

****-Is there an app that is like Roku's XTV. It has 24/7 and OnDemand videos of a lot of shows for free. It's the only thing keeping me attached to Roku. (I don't know the legality because it's streaming, but it's nice to have All in the Family marathon or something in the background).

-Is the Mi Box snappy with apps? I use Vue for cable, Netflix, Vudu, Etc.

-Will the Mi box get the next Android update?

Any help one one or more questions would be great. Again I know ShieldTV is the best, but too expensive for me now. AppleTV is an option, but like Google's openness. FireTV isn't for me because the UI is too dependant on Prime, which I don't want.

I installed both skills. So I can now say Alexa turn harmony volume up/down. What in cannot do is pause. Alexa doesn't recognize the command.

So I wanted to learn the pause button from the Mi box remote but the hub doesn't want to learn it. So I tried it on my harmony remote and same issue.

I'm stump why it is this difficult to have a code pause!

Can you controll an android TV box like the Mi Box or the Nvidia Shield with something like the logitech harmony hub. If so, is it the normal arrow and select controlls or could you launch an app from the Harmony remote?

I have many video files stored on usb. Which app is best for organization, display, and playing of these files.

I know Time Warner/Spectrum have Android apps for watching TV and using their On Demand TV on phones and tablets but I can't tell if these are available for/compatible with Android TV. We use an old Roku 2 on one of our TVs because some channels are not available on the little digital adapter boxes they used to offer before the merger with Spectrum but it has been acting up lately and I was thinking we might replace it with something like the Mi Box, but if their TWC TV app is not available we may have to end up going with a newer Roku.

Sorry if this has been posted before, but i recently got a mibox and I always thought the voice feature would be great to search for videos in Kodi (or anything really) but it seems to only do a google search. Is there a way to fix that? Would make that feature a lot more useful since it was bought only for Kodi playback.

I've been playing Mad Max recently and when I press the "select/back" button it doesn't register about 75% of the time. Some times it works with no issues, while other times it takes almost a minute of trying to press the button for it to register.

I had this issue with Boarderlands the pre-sequel, but thought it maybe was the game. Is this a known issue or faulty controller? Is there a way in Geforce Now to remap the "select/back" command to a different button? even if I have to use a mouse of keyboard, I wouldn't mind as a band-aid of shorts. Thanks for the help.

Might be specific to the Mibox, but has anyone found the volume control to be.. useless? Like.. if you lower the volume, it will bring some of the sound down, but when it wants to get loud again, it will just help itself to go ahead and get as loud as it wants..

The TV supports 4k from other streaming services, but will Google Play Movies be able to play 4k content to my 2016 Vizio P series with Google Cast?

Can anybody let me know if they use it and how the experience is?
