I have a sony XBR-43x830c love this little TV with all the streaming capability it has. I just bought a Logitech Harmony Elite so that I can go down to one remote and noticed that that navigating the android home screen of the TV using the Harmony seems to be very slow. Anyone else every experience this?

Hey guys anyone know of a setting to wake the Shield and turn the TV on with "OK Google?" When the Shield is sleeping it doesn't respond at all, but I even turned off sleep and it doesn't turn the TV on when it receives the command. If the shield is sleeping and I press a button on the shield remote then it does wake up and turn the TV on. Has anyone figured out a way to do this with voice?

Hi, can anyone point me to the best place to find games that work 100% with a gamepad (Xbox 360 controller) including menus, some games play but don't allow control of the menus and it drives me mad. Why doesn't the play store have a dedicated android TV tab? Gamepad games tab?

Whenever I try that I Google cast something to my mibox it never finds my mibox when it looks for a device to cast to

My Mi Box just won't connect. or rather, it says it is connected but I can not actually connect to the internet. Curiously, the Mi Box also displays additional wifi networks with network names slightly different from my own.

An example would be if our network was mind your business, there would be another network or two called mind tour business, and another named mind youf business.

I initially thought it was a nearby network just being annoying, but when i turned on my wireless hotspot i saw AndroidAP as well as AndroifAP.

Does anyone have any idea what is going on? or any idea how i can connect this damned thing to the internet?

Hi everyone, I finally got my first box and while I'm enjoying it I'm starting to notice why this thing is "cheap" does anyone else gets lag when playing videos from Kodi, Plex or Popcorn Time? This doesn't happens right away when I turn this thing on, more likely when I resume it from suspend, it is if like the suspend thing mess up with the system cause, usually a reboot fix the choppy playback... for a while.

I've set up the default resolution to 4k 30 hz (I've changed it from 4k 60 hz) I would stick with 1080p if it is definitely the last resource, but in my knowledge while playing something that isn't smooth to that resolution doesn't affect the performance of the video so... the problem comes more from a chance point or something cause, as I've said before, a fresh restart and the frame drops are lesser.

I want to invest in a Xiaomi Mi Box to cut the cord and am really attracted to its low price point. However, before buying does it support a receiver? If so does it come with a native guide application or is that on Android 7.0? If not is there an Android TV that runs 7.0, is stock, and is cheaper than say an Nvidia Shield?

I just bought a Xiaomi Mi Box (which I am using with a RJ45 wire) but nearly all of my movies (4K - H265) are laggy.

I'm reading them with Kodi but...do I have to configure something ?

I have already tried to modify the cache config (advanced settings file) but even when I'm doing that, the movies are laggy.

I've even tried with MX Player, Video Station or VLC., it's still laggy...

All of my movies are on my NAS Synology DS716II+.

I bought it because it can read DTS audio (my TV can't), but at least with my TV I don't have any problem to reading them without lag.

For information, my Mi Box config is @4K - 60fps.

On the 2017 Shield TV with 6.0 update, the Aol news app suddenly closes when any favorited newspiece finishes running, instead of going onto the next favorited piece. Rebooting the Shield doesn't correct the prob.

I can cast from my phone and laptop. Google Home says "Sure, playing Spotify on Shield," then does nothing. Once in a blue moon, it will actually work so it's not a connection problem. Would appreciate any help.

[More] My best guess is that Google Home has multiple Shields linked and is sending to one that doesn't exist. In the Google Home app, only one Shield shows up under devices, but under more settings, there are duplicates. I haven't found a way to remove those.

[Update] I removed the GH and Shield from every place I could in the GH app, including under Home Control, Manage Accounts. the duplicates are still there in the app but for the moment, casting is working.

[Update 2] Casting stopped working again.

Is there a way to cast to Mi Box from Chrome? Maybe some working extension? Edit: I mean Chrome on Windows.

I've never really used the voice functionality on my Sheild, mostly because I found it very limited for tasks besides opening apps and looking up movies. Also, for some reason it had frequent problems recognizing my voice. The new Google Assistant update really fixed and added so many features. One of my favorite features has to be the ability to open a specific show on an app using only my voice, for example when I want to watch The Office I just say "Open Netflix and play The Office" and it quickly resumes my last episode. It's so convenient and intuitive. They also kept the ability to talk to extensions such as Akinator, which I was pleasantly surprised to see and I had a lot of fun with it and others such as Trump Caster. Voice recognition also seemed to greatly improve in this update. Overall I'm really impressed with the functionality and integration Google/Nvidia was able to achieve with this update and it was definitely worth the wait imo.

I've a Shield TV (the pre-2017 one) and love it. Haven't used it in a while, but now after several months it became our primary player in the living room, so it just got the newest update and is running on another TV now. The Shield is configured to use HDMI CEC to control the TV on/off. Since then, it appears to have trouble "waking up". When I put it in sleep mode, and wake it up a little later (e.g. 1 hour), all is good: It wakes up normally, switches the TV on and I see the Shield UI.

But when I let it sleep longer (e.g. overnight) and try to wake it up: The TV switches on, so obviously the Shield wakes up and sends the HDMI CEC command; but I don't get video signal on the TV from the Shield. Only resolution is to pull the plug and restart it.

• Has anybody else experienced that issue?
• I would love to simply disable that "deep sleep" which apparently gets triggered when you're for an extended time in sleep mode. Is this possible somehow?

I don't know if this is the right sub to get help for this issue and I don't know if I'm explaining it right. I tried mapping a USB snes controller and a USB N64 controller, but when I try and map the keys within the emulator, certain keys that are pressed on the joystick will exit the app and open file explorer/chrome/setting etc. Anyone have any idea on how to fix this or can point me to a subreddit that would know how.

I'm using a beelink Android TV box with TVLauncher.

Any help is much appreciated.

Today it happened during fucking football. Like 5 times. It's a tad unacceptable.

Looking for a replacement for my Nexus player. It's being up there in age and it's not running as well as it used to. Could someone recommend a new Android TV box that gets updates (Android 8)? I'm leaning towards the Mi box, but not sure about the updates.

I am running Marshmallow AndroidTV on Mi Box.

The YouTube app lately started playing videos at 4K (I can see 4K icon next to title, and also when I enable "nerd stats").

Needless to say, Mi Box stutters on 4K content. But I don't need it! My TV is 1080p.

How can I disable 4K on YouTube app? I found nothing in YouTube app settings.

Not sure how else to describe it then when what i have in the topic.

I appears when I use the Android TV remote app with both my Nexus Player and/or Shield TV that it appears the app connects flawlessly to the NP, but it often doesnt see the Shield TV, or it does see it and won't connect.. or Just Works.

Network settings for both devices on the router appears to be the same. Everything is via wifi.

Curious if anyone else has experienced this behavior?

Also to note, all devices are at latest version. App as well. Multiple phones / tables have shown this behavior. I have seen this behavior on two different routers. The only constant has been this is always on wifi.

So apparently there is some kind of problem when the receiver is connected thru ARC , the pictures is lagging and sometimes the sound symbol doesn't even come up when trying to change the volume. hopefully they will fix this problem in the next update.

When I have the sound thru the tv only there is no problem at all.

now to the challenge, I have my receiver blocked off so there is no way IR can reach it and therefore I've controlled it thru ARC until now.

I have a logitech one remote and my thinking is the hub might be a solution, or won't it connect to the receiver? Is there some other way I can change volume on my receiver without going thru ARC?

Hope you can help me because i just can't see a solution.

I bought a shield TV but ended up returning it because the remote was absolutely awful (lagging after picking it up, sometimes taking up to 5 seconds to finally register clicks which is inexcusable in my opinion).

Well my ROKU is finally on its last legs and I need a new streaming device. Is the remote any better after software updates?

I'm considering getting a PROBOX remote anyway so it might not matter but I'm curious if anyone can speak to the quality of the remote now.
