After I updated my gen 1 Shield TV, I decided to install Dolphin Emulator. Even though I sideloaded the app, it shows in the games row along with two other Play Store installed games.

I didn't think sideloaded apps could show on the main launcher.

Preferably working with Kodi/SPMC long press, left, right, volume, pause play mainly, a microphone wouldn't be bad but not a deciding factor. Battery life and nice design is however.

When making comments about problems with Netflix, please do make mention of the specifics of the output device being used.

Oftentimes, trying with a different output device will allow proper handshaking and stream successfully using AndroidTV and Netflix.

In my experience, certain tvs, monitors and projectors fail to match the HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 specs that Netflix dictates.

Consider your entire system before indicting your Androidtv box as the root of Netflix problems.

I've begun having random issues with both of my Nexus players in the last couple weeks. Casting is very hit or miss, sometimes it won't show up on my phone as a cast device, other times screen will just go black when I cast a video.

Netflix and plex have started randomly quitting. It doesn't give a force close dialog, simply closes and loads the launcher. It's almost like there is a memory leak issue because the suggestion bar is reloaded too implying the launcher was purged from ram. Sometimes Netflix will play for a while with no issues, others times less than 5 minutes will play.

Just today the plex user data seemed to have been erased and had to sign in to my account again.

System and apps are up to date.

Update 2/3/17: it's only been getting worse. The remote has started becoming unpaired. Going to pick up a Mi Box this week.

It only outputs 480p into a 720p projector because it doesn't pick up the resolutions. I tried using an HDCP hdmi splitter but it didn't work. It works when I use an HDMI to component converter but it's a piece of shit.

I was considering picking up a Shield TV with 7.0, but after I saw that 7 has full tuner and DVR support I think it sealed the deal. My question though is where DVR is saved to. Can I plug in an external drive and have it save to there?

Bought a Mi Box recently to watch IpTv via kodi.

However I have an issue...

The Guide that comes with paid service is not displaying correctly. It shows UK time aka GMT, but it appears to me that one can't set the location per Country on the MiBox.

According to my IPTV content provider I must set the android tv box correctly for it to work...

Any suggestions on this matter? Can this be done?

Hi all, Could you please suggest Android box that is suitable for old 4:3 TV and can output in native 4:3 resolution. I've bought T95n - it has AV out but it's output is still in 16:9 mode so the picture is vertically stretched.

Hey guys so I have a 4k tv set up to my shield and my question is should i set the stream quality for gamestream to 1080p 60FPS or 4k with 60fps.....Game optimazation at 4k 60fps looks pretty bland as the settings are decreased quite a bit. Just wanted to get peoples opinions and what they are doing.

Just installed a new update, still with android version 6.0.1 and October security patch.

It only said it contains free access to Sling TV, though the update was over 500mb. Anyone knows of a change log?

Hello everyone, I would like to buy a TV box for my dad that has Chinese programs and channels on it and is not too expensive that is preferably under $100 CAD. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I have my Xbox 360 (with two USB dongles) one on my Mi box and another on my PC. I used joytokey on my PC to launch emulators on Steam.

On Mi box I used Moonlight to launch steam. The issue is the keys I mapped to the PC/joytokey doesn't register on the Mi box but works perfectly natively on PC.

Anyway i can overcome this? I use Moonlight to play my emulation via steam in another room.

I did a bunch of searching but couldn't find anything conclusive. I'm trying out SlingTV but the basic package doesn't include CBS/FOX/NBC. I'm wondering if I can supplement SlingTV with a tuner, but I'm not really sure how it works. I do have a USB extender hooked up with it so it could be a USB tuner, if that would work

I have an NEC monitor that's 1600x1200 and the Shield doesn't display the UI on the entire screen, leaving pretty huge black bars on the top and bottom. Is there any way to fix this?

Right now I have a Philips with Google TV, but the software simply sucks. Half the times I can't control the volume because... oh lord, I don't know why.

By the way, I'm so silly that, after this horrible experience, I want to replace my TV with another Philips TV just because I really like ambilight.

I was wondering if someone had some experience with the Android TV bundled with the 6000 and/or 7000 series. Consider that I have a SHIELD so I just need that the software doesn't get in the way, doesn't restart randomly, allows me to use 4k@60fps (my current tv will show a green stripe on one of the edges if I try) and allows me to change the volume consistently...

I am actually watching live stuff on Facebook in these strange days and it seems like a no-brainer to make it easy for Android TV users to put Live broadcasts up on a big screen.

It's fun to watch the real-time reactions at the bottom of screen.

Can the Steam app for Nvidia Shield be sideloaded to the Mi box?
